Great letter from the great archbishop. Thanks for posting it.
Bump for a great man.
How far we've fallen. In my diocese at my fairly sanitized parish, I can hear many of the EEM's and council members and parishioners and educators that I know personally disagreeing with the first statement alone. All consider themselves good and faithful Catholics and Rome out of touch. And some consider me to be old-fashioned and unwilling to accept change. The changes of the past decade or so have had a big effect and dumbing down of Catholicism, that it will be hard to convince many of these people to go back or return to a previous state of faithfulness to the Church and her teachings.
Matthew 8:8 And the centurion making answer, said: Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldst enter under my roof: but only say the word, and my servant shall be healed.
This is such a good description it should be repeated.
I've seen many good people so very hurt by infidelity in their marriages, only to scar them for life. It's for these people I pray that they find trusting love again in their lives.
Great article.
