Does the Catholic Church also recognize Baal and Moloch as YHWH, even if it does not agree with their respective traditions of worship? Neither Baal nor Moloch are "the God of Abraham."

Just because someone says
they worship "the God of Abraham"
does NOT make it so.

***Neither Baal nor Moloch are "the God of Abraham."***
And Allah is? Better revise our hymnals:
"Allah, Hail the Power of Jesus Name"
"I Surrender, Allah"
"Allah Creatures Great and Small"
"Jesus Loves Me this I Know for the Koran Tells Me so"
"Oh Allah Our Help in Ages Past"

"Treat others the way you wish to be treated (including not prejudging their religious mysterious religious practices),... As I recall it was you who questioned my Christianity when I merely stated that the Pope was wrong to kiss the Koran.
I'm taking a poll. Would YOU kiss the Koran?

I'm taking a poll. Would YOU kiss the Koran? I'm not the Pope. I also probably wouldn't forgive an asassin three days after he shot me.

Apparently the two of you believe there are no moral people of the Islamic faith on the planet. This is not a Christian outlook.

Let me ask you this: If an Islamic asassin almost killed you, would you immediately forgive him?

The problem is that your understanding of Catholicism is lacking.

Then PUCKER UP, Sooting Dave, and give it a hickey! Sometimes you're capable of serious thought. Sometimes you just tune it all out.

It helps if you understand Islam as a perverted form of a Christian heresy, which is what it is. Then I look forward to seeing the Pope (any Pope) slipping the tongue to a copy of Calvin's Institutes. Or isn't Reformational doctrine heretical enough for the Pope to warm up to?
To: SoothingDave
I'm not sure why attacking Catholicism is so important to him. Clearly his own faith is not influencing his thought process.

It's no secret Muslims do not consider Jesus=God=Yhwh. They worship "someone else". Jesus is God. We worship Jesus. At least judging by some of your comments I believe "WE" do. Jews don't worship Jesus either. Are they worshipping a false god?
The point is that if Islam is just a warped version of Christianity, of worship of YHWH, by what rights do you declare them to be worshipping a "false god"?
I know you guys got extremely upset when a Catholic posted an article saying Protestants worship a false god cause your ideas do not match ours. So how far can one deviate in thought before worship of YHWH becomes somethign else?

I know you're not so dumb as to not know that "Allah" is the Arabic word for "God." What do you think Arab Christians use?

"Jews don't worship Jesus either. Are they worshipping a false god?"
This canard comes up often.
My reply is that Yhwh wrote the Hebrew Bible. He did not write the Koran.
To: presidio9
Please define "moral". Seriously. I'm not sure we'd have the same definition.

Leaving aside whether "wrote" is the proper verb, you have missed the point by a wide mark.
Granting that the Koran is not an inspired book, how far can worshippers of YHWH go into error before you decide they are worshipping a false god?

how far can worshippers of YHWH go into error before you decide they are worshipping a false god? I'd suggest that denying the literal, bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ is a good place to start the discussion.
To: presidio9
This has nothing to do with kissing a Koran which I would never do. But to answer your question:
As difficult and as unbelievable as this may sound, I live under the motto "For me to live is Christ to die is gain."
I believe it's easy to die for Christ in which you don't have to worry about forgiveness and you'll be in Heaven. It's also easy to forgive someone who shot you when you know you will fully recover to carry on your work. Then you can look at it as a testimony for God.
The grayer areas that I often wondered about is how I would feel if someone severely impaired my abilities by shooting me. Where I would lie in total dependence on those around me, paralyzed from the neck down. To take away my livelihood and severely affect my family both emotionally and financially. Would I be so forgiving? Would the Pope have been so forgiving if he was unable to perform his duties at the height of his career?
These are much more difficult questions and can only be answer when we go through those problems. I believe that if this is God's desire for us then it is meant for us to lean on Him and He will provide the strength.
