Change of plans: Hoosier didn't need rare heart surgery

A Central Indiana man facing a rare and tricky heart operation in Houston got some good news Tuesday.

Surgeons preparing to do an "autotransplant" on Vic Coleman, of McCordsville, discovered the procedure wasn't necessary because a tumor could be removed from his chest another way, a hospital spokeswoman said.

I hope this story will encourage someone. The gentleman in this article attends my church. After we had prayer for him, Vic told our congregation, "Whatever happens, whether God heals me or not, I win."

It was apparent that the Lord had given Vic a peace beyond understanding. I hope I can have that kind of faith when faced with such circumstances.

This is a wonderful post with a happy ending. Usually the doctors discover they didn't need to do the surgery AFTER they've done it. Great testimony.
