This is the first year I have read anything about the Holy Fire. From the little I have read, I am inclined to believe it is genuine.

Of course, I am a Western experiential type so perhaps I am more inclined in this direction. Rather than be skeptical, I think caution and discernment are good first reactions to any supernatural event. This one has stood the test of time. If it was a fraud we would know by now.

Have there been any years where the Fire did not spontaneously appear due to God's displeasure with the world? That might be possible too.

One year the Orthodox Patriarch was kept out and the fire burst out from the building and ran up a column and split it.
They say a lot of muslims converted on that day. :-)
