The Albany County Coroners Office said autopsy results show Father John Minkler, 57, committed suicide. Minkler was found dead in his home in Watervliet on February 15.
Minkler reportedly left a suicide note, but the contents of that note have never been made public. The exact cause of death is not being released.
Two days earlier, the Albany Diocese said Minkler signed a note denying he ever accused Bishop Howard Hubbard of sexual abuse in a letter to the Archdiocese of New York. Attorney John Aretakis who represents a number of alleged victims of priest sexual abuse, released a letter he claimed was written by Minkler back in 1995.
Diocese spokesman Ken Goldfarb released a statement on Tuesday.
"It's a great loss for his family, friends and staff at the V.A. Hospital. We all pray for Father Minkler. We are extremely sorry to hear about it, and it is really unfortunate," Goldfarb said.
In the meantime, the former federal prosecutor hired by the Diocese to investigate allegations of abuse against Bishop Hubbard, also released a statement on Tuesday.
Mary Jo White said in part, "The independent investigation is proceeding actively. We have spoken with more than 140 people and anyone who may have information relevant to the allegations of sexual misconduct by Bishop Howard Hubbard can contact us by phone at 1-800-901-6853."

Minkler reportedly left a suicide note, but the contents of that note have never been made public. The exact cause of death is not being released. No surprise is right, sinky. The whole truth is not being released. Neither the police nor Hubbard will gain from this suppressing the truth.
But of course, suicide that it is, the suicide note is probably more damning than ever, as Dead Man's Declaration.

Police rarely release the contents of suicide notes.
There's no "suppression of the truth." The man killed himself.

Ah, there you go again, sinky.
No release of cause of death, no release of suicide note, no suppression of truth, MJ Whitewash is completely impartial, Hubbard is absolutely innocent, and so is Saddam.
Let's celebrate.

No release of cause of death, no release of suicide note,He overdosed on pills, which is why an empty pill bottle was found next to his body.
As I said once already, it is not customary for police to release the contents of suicide notes.

If it was true, certainly it would be quite easy for people to accept, including myself. But they chose to suppress this info. How interesting.

Then, on Feb. 15, the Rev. John Minkler, a priest in the Albany Diocese, was found dead in his home with prescription pills and a note near his body -- apparently a suicide. From The Boston Globe.

Nah, you are dancing, sinky. I know what the papers had written.
My question is not about some pills and note lying around Minkler.
My question is, how do you know for a FACT Minkler was OD and died from the pills?
The coroner did not declare the cause of death. So I'd like to know how you come to know this for a fact.

The coroner did not declare the cause of death. So I'd like to know how you come to know this for a fact. I believe the coroner, that it was suicide. Medical examiners have no reason to lie, especially in a case like this.
If you want to be delusional, and believe in some kind of goofy conspiracy, go right ahead.

sinky, sinky, sinky.
I haven't seen anyone calling the coroner a liar stating it was a suicide. Why he didn't declare the cause of death we don't know, yet.
However, it was only YOU who declared Minkler OD and died from the pills. How do you know this for a FACT ?

That's really how he died.

=== The coroner knew this on February 15.
Bet Hubbard & Co. knew it the moment they got his signature.
