St. Clement - Chicago

Some years ago, I belonged to this parish. It sponsored a gay & lesbian group which met every week on church premises. Listening to homilies on Sunday was like turning on NPR.

The outrage here really bothers me. Who are any of us to judge the actual status of any soul who wishes to attend mass or partake in Holy Communion? Is it no possible that sincere christian/catholic homosexuals might be celebate? The harshness of the comments is not very christian, in my opinion. I can't imagine the spiritual struggle a gay or lesbian must go through especially if they love the Lord. You can condemn their acts, but their spiritual life belongs to God to judge, not the laity or the public.

With all respect, I don't think anyone judges the state of the souls who wish to attend Mass and receive Holy Communion. It's just that these parishes, and many others, condone the gay lifestyle either explicitly or implicitly and oftentimes have ministries designed to affirm the chosen lifestyle of the homosexual person. If you believe in what the Church has always taught, the words of the Bible and the words of Jesus Christ "go and sin no more" then parishes that do condone a sinful lifestyle are in error and are teaching souls that they do not have to repent and become saints. God is just and merciful but we have to repent and turn away from sin in order to be with Him in Heaven.

Sts. Peter and Paul--Been there. Hated it. That particular problem is mostly fixed now (mostly)

St. Pius X--Been there. Absolutely the most wacked-out Catholic Church in Tucson.

Our Mother of Sorrows--Been there. Abominable! Most of my worse NO horror stories come from there. This is the parish where I have heard a priest say this in the confessional and then from the pulpit (back when I used to do daily mass there), "I'm catholic with a small 'c'. The Catholic Church is all about rules and regulations and that's not what Jesus was about." I kid you not. One of the associate pastors there refuses to say the part of the creed that refers to beliving in One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. I wonder what he DOES believe in. It is a parish that faithfully preaches the four gospels of Karl Marx, new-age syncretism, feminism and the environmental movement. Horrid!

St. Odilia--Haven't had the displeasure. Thanks for the warning.

Just wondering why you suddenly have no opinion. You are so knowledgeable in Church matters. Seems you would have SOMETHING to say. You usually do.

"I'm not interested in "Gay-friendly" parishes."

But they ARE in Union with Rome, yes? They are promoting heretical, sinful and even criminal practices, no?

Homosexual Agenda Ping + Nausea from *so-called* Catholics.

If homosexuals want the pleasure of "feeling religious", they should join the Metropolitan Community Church which is founded on the doctrine of sodomy for one and all, not pollute the august and ancient Catholic Church.

(It's all a fraud - they're not interested in real religion, which means a relationship of loving obedience to God. They just want to pollute that which makes them feel uncomfortable in their lives of vice.)

Truly disgusting. I hope whoever is responsible for these churches puts a stop to this evil.

Let me know if anyone wants on/off this pinglist.
