The Bishop of this diocese recently wrote a letter on liturgical abuses. He says (paraphrase), "holding hands during the Our Father is against liturgical norms, but since everyone is doing it we will allow it to continue for those who wish to do so."

And the wacked-out abuse tyrants paw at you like chimpanzees looking for fleas if you fold your hands and refuse to comply. Few things are more irritating to me than that.

Furthermore, those driven out by the irreverence and focus on the crowd at the expense of God are--why, the reverent and those who want to focus on God, of course! And just who do you think arranged such trends?
