"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

Is that what you would call that which goes on here?

If you notice this is not a salvation verse , nor does it say that this will save anyone.

From Matthew Henry

The prophets, who went before them, were the salt of the land of Canaan; but the apostles were the salt ofthe whole earth, for they must go into all the world to preach the gospel. It was a discouragement to them that they were so few and soweak. What could they do in so large a province as the whole earth?Nothing, if they were to work by force of arms and dint of sword; but, being to work silent as salt, one handful of that salt would diffuse its savour far and wide; would go a great way, and work insensibly and irresistibly as leaven, ch. 13:33. The doctrine of the gospel is as salt; it is penetrating, quick, and powerful (Heb. 4:12); it reaches the heart Acts 2:37. It is cleansing, it is relishing, and preserves from putrefaction. We read of the savour of the knowledge of Christ (2 Co. 2:14); for all other learning is insipid without that. An everlasting covenant is called a covenant of salt (Num. 18:19); and the gospel is an everlasting gospel. Salt was required in all the sacrifices (Lev. 2:13), in Ezekiel’s mystical temple, Eze. 43:24. Now Christ’s disciples having themselves learned the doctrine of the gospel, and being employed to teach it to others, were as salt. Note, Christians, and especially ministers, are the salt of the earth.

The question at hand is does your behavior save anyone?

I believe I dealt with that in the post. Is Christ refering to the unsaved when he says "let your light shine"? What light would that be? And who should it shine to? Does He say "each other" (here)? No, it's people NOT curently giving glory to God. So "before men" here must be "the world". And yet they WILL give glory to God because of the light that is shown by our works.

Sounds to me like a change is predicted to take place because of that witness to the light.

And does your Bible color "words of Christ in red"? I've heard that some do. Does it also do "salvation verses" in some other color? Which?

It amazes me how some people cherry pick verses from scripture and self-identify them as "salvation verses". Usually it's the ones that seem to support their position even if others contradict the interpretation... those are "second class verses"

The question at hand is does your behavior save anyone?

You continue in error. It is your "side" that came in here proclaiming that their behavior had saved people and that the Baptists had not.

Neither of you saves anyone. Not your behavior or your preaching (no mater how pure). Paul had more reason to boast than anyone but it wasn't "false humility" that put the credit elsewhere.

BTW 1 Peter 2: 11-12 makes the same point.

And note that nowhere in Scripture is salt described as you described it. It is described as flavor.

If you notice this is not a salvation verse , nor does it say that this will save anyone.

Really. Come on. So heathens glorify God without any change in their lives? What does that mean? Of course, it means nothing other than these verses do not fit into your grid and must be summarily dismissed as "off the grid."
