Maybe since He plans to give us a free will to love Him because we want to and not because we have to, he chooses not to know. Does deciding to make a bad batch esp for hell sound loving and just?

You're mis-representing Calvinism, and in the process, you denigrate that which you say you hold dear.
Every soul that ends up in hell will be deserving of it. Do you disagree?
It's a simple question. Do you think anyone will be in heaven who does not deserve to be there?

Whether you consider yourself a Predestinarian or an advocate of Free-Will that has to be the conclusion based on God's Perfect Omniscience.
And since God by His nature is Loving and Just then it has to be.
