Well, I don't know...I would pray for conversion. If they were given an apostolic administration, they would eliminate the chief obstacle to a wide and generous application of the traditional Mass, namely, the Latin Rite bishops.

I do think they are pushing a bit too hard, and trying to strong-arm Rome into granting a universal indult.

That's not going to be granted as long as they are outside the formal Church. They should accept what has (allegedly) been offered them, and then work from within on other things. If they truly believe in the primacy of the See of Peter, they must do this.

On the other side, Rome should begin to clean house. "Promote" bishops who are borderline heretics to some kind of papal commission renumbering shelves in the Vatican library.

Knotts, ask UR if a universal indult will bring him back into the Church.

He will tell you no.

The SSPX does not want a universal indult. It wants the suppression of the Mass of Paul VI!

Nothing short of that, and the renunciation of, at the very least, the Decrees on Ecumenism and Religious Liberty from Vatican II, will do.

IOW, the SSPX is never coming back, Knotts. They want the clock turned back, and that is not going to happen.
