Oh, how can people think we would blame any one group for his crucifixion?
That cartoon is exact.
The part where Mary runs to Him, and He says that He makes things all new again.
Oh, I just lost it. I started to sob uncontrollably.

**Attending Mass tonight I kept looking up at the cross**
I did the same thing. And I kept thinking the same thoughts you expressed so well.

I can never not live for Him everyday of my life now. It was as if I was there myself. I really did see myself in every sin that happened.

Bump to this.

I'm never going to sleep tonight. Or, maybe I will pass out.
MAN, I love God. My heart is just on FIRE right now.

"I really did see myself in every sin that happened."
Oh, yes. So much so that I had to FORCE myself to watch.

YES. I sat there the whole time, and as they beat him, I DIDN'T think how could 'they' do that. I said to myself, "Lord, I am so sorry. Please forgive me", as tears poured down my face.

I should have taken tomorrow off.
I feel blessed and sick to my stomach at the same time. And empty, yes.

I almost had to physically restrain myself from jumping out of my seat and SCREAMING: STOP STOP, OH PLEASE STOP!!!

I felt a weird thing. It was as if I was watching what all my sins could do. As if I never watched them before. It was almost as if this movie was a camera into my own personal sin. What my humanity was capable of.
To: bonfire
yes, this is the 'homework' for the big 'graduation day'!
To: sfRummygirl
Oh yes. You are SOOOOOO alone in the theater. It's so personal.

Well, I should get off the computer and rest. God bless you.

How people could say this film is antisemitic is bizarre. It's so NOT.
(I also feel like a blithering idiot! There really just are no words to describe the experience)

I think you said it pretty much. It was the most beautiful, excellent and yet terrible, movie I've ever seen. My 16 yr old son watched with me, and made an observation that; though the images of the scourging, of Satan and the minions, were horrible, the ugliest, most hideous parts of the movie were the men who laughed and enjoyed the torturing of Him. I was determined to not hide my eyes during the scourging, but anticipated the relief that was to come at the resurrection, certain it would be gloriously done.
I didn't get that, and am left with a dreadful sorrow for all of us, and a question of 'why'? Why do we deserve Him to suffer so for us? To have such a clear and real picture of the suffering, without an equal image of 'why' leaves me without a sense of balance I had just this morning.
I felt obliged to remind my son before he went to sleep that he is good, and that God loves him. That though there is evil in men, that people are basically good. I hope no parents take children any younger to see the movie.
I should probably have waited, digested the movie some, before I commented on it. I think everyone should see it. And agree that for me, once is enough.
