Else, being deprogrammed of such silliness would be talking about something which is not Catholic and I couldn't be guily of "belittling the faith of other FReepers," now could I? ...Let me know when the world religions start singing "kum by ya" together on this forum and I'll be more than happy to give you all the excuses you could ever hope to see me gone. "
You just don't get it, and have given us ample proof over the past few weeks that you never will. You have no desire to act in accord with the standards of decorum we are establishing here, which you have made clear. Dozens upon dozens of others have heeded our calls and our warnings. You, on the other hand, have shown that you refuse.

And that is all the excuse we need. The long record you have accumulated here of more than pushing the limits, violating our rules, being suspended, and coming back without a single change merely backs up that decision.

I hope you find a forum that is more suited for your temperment, because this one is not it.

Regards, LM

Could you show me specifically where the personal attacks and/or flames are in Woody's post?

I ask, because I could not find where Woody attacked, baited or flamed anybody.

Rather, I found Woody acknowledging his belief that many anti-Calvinists want him gone.

Earlier this week Ephesians210 and I were questioning the Religion Mod's consistency in his application of the rules. We were not given answers to those questions, but, rather, were given deflections -and Ephesians210 was given a suspension. Again, there was no baiting, flaming or personal attacks in his line of questioning.

In the light the ever increasing amount of (far more) egregious posts not even being removed (or the posters not given any warnings), it seems that some members of FR are intentionally being singled out for removal.

Let me be blunt: Is FR intending on getting rid of some specific Calvinists?

It certainly seems that way.

And if not, could you give me the names of any of the non-Calvinists who have been suspended and/or banned since the inception of the new rules?

Jean

Considering the topic of this thread, and in light of the vocal and righteous support of Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ" by the Calvinists on this forum, it seems misdirected to stifle the 500-years-old debate.

Strong beliefs shouldn't be feared, but encouraged; they raise the bar for all of us.

Just like Paul encouraged the learned Alexandrian Jew, Apollos, who "was a great help to those who by grace had believed."

"For he (Apollos) vigorously refuted the Jews in public debate, proving from Scriptures that Jesus was the Christ." -- Acts 18:28

"Long Overdue"?

Is it Woody's suspension that is "Long Overdue", or rather the attaining of a "kum ba yah", one-world-religion loving (pseudo)Free Republic?

Let me go on the record as to where I stand by quoting these words:
Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few. -Matthew 7:13-14 (ESV)

Those of us who believe that salvation is found in the person of Jesus Christ (and not the created "Jesus" of the Book of Mormon, nor the weak "Jesus" of the synergists), recognize that those who are not entering by the narrow gate are headed to hell. We are warning them of their emminent destruction, and realize that to fail to do so would put us in opposition with the commands of God. Thus, there was no way that Woody was going to "get along" with Mormons, Catholics, and others who are travellers along the "wide path".

First and foremost, all that has passed prior to today is forgiven. However, my forgiveness, unlike that of God, is continuing but not unlimited. After all, I'm a sinner, too. Transgressions of the rules will be met with three warnings, followed by three progressively lengthy suspensions, after which unrepentant posters will be, shall we say, cast into the outer darkness. Totally outrageous violations, of course, remain subject to the ultimate penalty immediately, as always.

I would hope that the long record accumulated has been after the blanket amnesty given in the first link. I seem to recall Woody being suspended once. He may have received warning in certain threads, but not suspensions. And I don't see where you can use the last loophole of "totally outrageous violations" as a reason for banning in Woody's last post. The post you chose to ban him for, especially when you were linked here by Jean Chauvin here.

Those were the rules posted by the RM. It would be nice to see them applied uniformly.
