My understanding of the theology of it is that Jesus gave up "independent" use of his divine attributes.
The hard part is the "let this mind be in you" part.

My understanding of the theology of it is that Jesus gave up "independent" use of his divine attributes.It is a spousal emptying. The Lord is Bridegroom, and his kenosis is a spousal total gift of self to his beloved, the Church.
