That's actually the SKYLINE of Dallas, Texas in the '70's ! I remember seeing this picture all over the place in the early '70's here in Dallas !

Well, Harry had his Budweiser goggles on that day.

I've wanted those placemats for over ten years. Doesn't seem like I'll ever get them!

I don't know that a website entitled "preterist archive" is a good source for an analysis of dispensationalism. Similarly,
Wrongly Dividing the Word of Truth seems way too biased.
"Old Line" Dispensationalism is no longer being taught in any of the major conservative Seminaries; even those seminaries, like Dallas Theological Seminary; which was founded "foursquare" on the Scofield Bible, is no longer teaching "Old Line" Dispensationalism; and has not taught it for some years now.
Is that true? I know Dallas is getting a rep amongst the more doctrinaire of the Brethren as "wishy-washy" on dispensationalism because of Bock and Blasing, and that Swindall wanted to move Dallas away from being "too dispensational," but I wasn't under the impression that Dallas itself has shifted entirely.
(BC: I grew up with a Scofield Bible, and my church taught me Classical Dispensationalism. I've largely shifted away from that position. I don't affirm as sharp a distinction between the church and Israel as the classical dispensationalist does, though I do affirm that there are fundamental differences between the Old Covenant and New Covenant dispensations.)
Gotta run to help with one of those eeeeeevil parachurch ministries on campus... ;-)

Would you settle for a Clarence Larken chart as a necktie?
(Maybe I'll include him in my report...)

Vern, I'm all a tingle. Don't keep me in suspense. Tell me what this fatal flaw is that you have discovered in Calvinism. I might not be able to sleep tonight unless you tell me.
Of course, with the nightmare pic drsteve posted, I might not be able to sleep as it is. I'd better check to see how much Cab I have. It might take an extra glass.
Woody.

You have to combine a lot of Bud to how the Cubs played that year. Ol' Hil must have looked real good to Harry.

A little color and it would make a great addition to Rush's No Boundaries collection.

Agreed. It wasn't one of Gerstner's better books.
Interestingly, the best defense of the distinction between Israel and the Church was done as a Master of Theology thesis at Westminster Seminary by Robert C. Walton.
DTS' doctrinal statement still reads...
Article XIIITHE CHURCH, A UNITY OF BELIEVERS
We believe that all who are united to the risen and ascended Son of God are members of the church which is the body and bride of Christ, which began at Pentecost and is completely distinct from Israel.
http://www.dts.edu/aboutdts/fulldoctrinalstatement.aspx BTW, Craig Blaising (a seminary classmate and buddt) is now at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Cow Town.

Hey, Woody & Wrigs in that picture, does it look like Hillary has her eyes close so she can imagine it is Janet Reno smoochin her? She seems to be quite passionate.

I'm wondering if Late Great Planet Earth and Left Behind count as primary source materials. They were quite influential. That depends on which version of Late Great Planet Earth you get. If you want to amuse yourself, try to find the original edition from 1970(?). Look at the failed predictions there. Compare it to the most recent edition, and see the amount of change made.

How can I since I can't sleep until you explain this massive defect with my theology? I should probably hit the bottle now and try to drown my sorrow and see if I can make myself pass out.
