Your #593: Netiquette 101 requires that you at least put the name of "the poster" in the upper box. If you don't, it doesn't look good for you.

I used to agree with that, but with the hostile posters it only seems to invite more hostility. On other message boards it is not possible to address posts to people. You go to a thread for its content, not who is flagging whom.

It is not considered proper at Free Republic to address people - or talk about them - without placing their names in the To: block. That's just the way it is.
