Eww, that's nasty. Everyone knows you connect a plastic hose to the spigot and drink from that.
I think Petronski is on to something here...
Judges 7:5 (NASB):
So he brought the people down to the water. And the LORD said to Gideon, "You shall separate everyone who laps the water with his tongue as a dog laps, as well as everyone who kneels to drink."
I think drinking from the plastic hose attached to the spigot is probably the less heretical of the two actions.
