How about an example sometime. Maybe you and I are talking about different things.
He sure has!
Understand that many believe, with reason, that you're following something that isn't true. I used to think that pointing ou facts would be helpful, but if the LDS is what you want, so be it. (At times like this, I almost wish I was a Calvinist because I could just assume that God knows if you're elected and it's all pre-ordained anyway. :)
All the Mormons I've ever known are hard-working family people. And BTW, you make the most dependable of all next-door neighbors.:)
Peace be among us. What happened here was the crackdown on the Religion Forum, and in part because of a bunch of abuse button hits. Well, maybe all those abuse hits weren't called for.
It's true that jokes fly around, we've got a lot of witty people, and maybe you felt beat up sometimes. But it would have better to say bluntly, "This is what I believe, right or wrong, and shut up already!"
Know that if you post any article on the internet, it's out there for discussion. If it can't hold water, so to speak, then what do expect everyone else to do?
If you want to be safe, only post your best articles, and for instance, there's a great deal of good Mormon real life stories. Like the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake where the citizens learned that one very poor team from the former Soviet Union didn't have hardly anything and they took up a collection for them.
Mormons are great citizens - and usually Republican.:) I really like you, I respect you, and I have just thought you should see things....... but I was wrong. Just trying to show the love of Christ should have been the goal and I certainly missed it.
Mea culpa, and I'm going to bed. See you around if the Religion Forum is still here:D
I've not seen any of the threads you mention in #325, but if I do I imagine I would follow Lead Moderator's lead.
...theres and Airplane Leslie Neilson joke there....surely, Shirley LOL
am I reading it correctly them when the lead mod states
If you are talking about threads "For Catholics Only" or "For Protestants Only" or the like, I pull those when I see them. Thanks, LM to include "g.r.p.l." calvin threads in which only favorable aspects of calvinism are put forth and non calvinists commenting otherwise are directed to a duplicate SBR thread.
simply stated - will participation in g.r.p.l. threads in the relig forum by non calvinists be construed as disruptive and will g.r.p.l. threads be allowed to stand?....beacuse if Im reading the LM's comments correctly, g.r.p.l. calvin only threads will be zapped -
his Congressional testimony is here
will this testimony and matter of public record by an officer of the U.S. Army be allowed to stand as a thread ?
There are various social cues we use in everyday conversations - responding to a person directly is one of them
In the physical, I would compare it to a 3 way conversation in which someone speaks with you and you respond to the third person - that would be seen as extremely rude, no?
So, having said that - and considering your claim that LDS are part of the "Christian body" to include other Christian theologies - I am obligated to indicate to you that your behavior as such constitutes an offense against your brothers and sisters.
I would challenge you to read James 4:17...... Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins
Please practice this basic courtesy, as it is afforded you
White Mountain: Yes it is. False accusations in nearly every post, day and night, are wrong
W.W.J.D. ?
Luke 6:28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. 29If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic. 30Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back.
practice humility
LOL - add that to my list of "must tries."
wow.... talk about low profile LOL
you two have been silent for days
Could be ..but it does not matter ..the religion forum is not a place where truth come in second to getting along.
Posts such as these will always be taken as attacks against the moderator. Consider this a warning.
However (and this is my take alone on this ) if a thread is posted, for example, for Calvinists to discuss, largely among themselves, the nuances of total depravity, and someone from another faith tradition comes along to poke fun or worse - and is asked politely to desist by those there for serious discussion - then that person should do as requested. On the other hand, if someone comes along with the obvious intent to learn, he or she should be warmly welcomed.
That would depend entirely on the ensuing discussion. Everyone should know by now what kind of discussion is allowed, and what kind is not.
