A bishop has the fullness of the sacramental, hierarchical priesthood Our Lord established at the Last Supper. He has the duty as a priest to supervise the sanctification of the flock entrusted to his care. He has the duty to proclaim as a prophet everything contained in the Deposit of Faith without any exception or reservation. He has the duty as a king to govern his flock, sometimes with great firmness.

You must realize how this must strike Catholics who have grown up immersed in an almost idolotrous adulation of democracy. Indeed, they are uncmfortable with the title "Christ the King." But when I was in the Sistine Chapel sveeral years ago, I couldn't not keep my eyes off of the figure of Christ above the Altar. Not the gentle Jesus of our copy books, but the stern judge of all mankind. And a bishop is his deputy, after all and the popoe his chief justice.

The Sistine chapel is a masterpiece. It gave me shivers as I looked at the ceiling. Michelangelo, in my opinion, is the greatest artist of all time.
