What did I Learn? I learned that we aren't headed to some major schism, leaving consecrated property, splitting parishes apart, abandoning Priest's and Bishop's retirement monies, and introducing incredible amounts of doubt. We can continue with who we are, claiming the Biblical authority that we have, and making some requests about our future that will progress slowly, with thought and with care (and with legal help!).

And a good time was had by all, we can sing and dance, and best of all, we don't lose our buildings.

This is just to let you know that the overwhelming majority of Episcopalians at Bruton Parish in Willliamsburg, Virginia are angry and frustrated by the Robinson consecreation. The problem at this point is what to do since Bishop Bane has basically told anyone who is opposed to the Convention outcome is invited to leave the church.

And that, in a nutshell, is why (just as the heretics predicted) this whole thing will eventually "blow over" just as the maelstrom over women's ordination did. Those that can't bring themselves to endure any sort of discomfort, suffering, or sacrifice to defend the Faith or God's Word written, have now begun to salve their consciences through self-deception. They are fools to believe that they can remain in communion and fellowship with apostates and not be corrupted by it. Too many make the assertion that they intend to stay where they are and get on with their "mission," which I presume means the Great Commission. Let me see if I've got this right...they're going to go out to spread the Gospel (now WHICH Gospel is that, exactly?), and they are going to minister to the needs of their community (bottled water, NOT living water), and IF they somehow manage to bring someone to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, they will invite these baby Christians to their Church to hear the official ECUSA line, "just because it's written in Scripture, it ain't necessarily so." Welcome to "Cafeteria Jesus" - take what you want and leave the rest...

Oh, yeah. I'm sure that's JUST what Jesus had in mind when he gave His disciples the Great Commission!
