And in return, let me ask this question:

What are you doing to make things better in your parish? >>

At this instant? Attempting to keep my four year old from howling during the Consecration, and keeping my two year old from running up the aisle, while my beloved spouse keeps the seven year old in a hammerlock for the duration of the liturgy. I'm sure you know what it's like to have a basketful of puppies in church.

With your pastoral council? Are you giving them feedback so that they might be alerted to some problems (Abuses of the GIRM for example?) >>>

We are currently attending an Eastern Rite parish, which is less rank than most in the Detroit area, but still pretty heretical (our first Sundah there the priest told us that the Miracle of the Loaves consisted of a crowd of people choosing to share lunch). But since it's Eastern Rite, if you're not one of the Old Families, forget about serving on the parish council.

Your diocese? (Believe me, write a letter, and you will be heard!)

Letter-writers is why God invented shredders. The unexorcised spirit of John+ Cardinal Dearden still hangs over Detroit like a pall.

If you live in a typical New Mass parish, there is only thing you can do to "make things better": leave! Go someplace where you will be given the true Catholic faith. The alternative is to stay and watch the faith of your children be insidiously destroyed. There is nothing you can do in that situation to improve things other than leaving, because the only solution is grace, and there is no grace to be gotten in a parish that is making a mockery out of the Catholic faith.

Try a visit to Assumption Grotto in Detroit.
