Radio is like the Old Testament,” said Sheen, “for it is the hearing of the Word without the seeing. Television is like the New Testament, for the Word is seen as it becomes flesh and dwells among us.”

Here is another Sheen story. One day, a reporter asked him if he used speech writers. "Why yes, I do!", responded Sheen. "May I ask their names?", replied the reporter. "Of course", responded Sheen, "their names are Matthew, Mark, Luke and John."

To have Bishop Sheen alive to bring energy and renewal to the Church would be heaven.

He has never left! Thanks to Mother Angelica, Bishop Sheen's program Life is Worth Living airs weekly on EWTN, where he continues to write his messages on a chalkboard.

."Radio is like the Old Testament .... Television is like the New Testament ...."

Are you trying to tell me that the Old Testament is a hot medium and the New Testament is a cool medium? I don't see it.

What a strange magazine cover. The Red Cross, the United Nations, and a Catholic bishop. What on earth was the artist thinking?

I love listening to Bishop Sheen. People who like Bishop Sheen would probably also like Fr. Rutler, the modern day equivalent.

Personally, I like listening to Mother Angelica even more.
