In Hebrews 10:24 it is written, "Let us consider how to provoke one another to love." Some of you read the first part of the verse, and not the end. You read, "let us provoke one another..." And you stop there. You have been following the Lord by getting good at provoking other people. You provoke otherwise very loving and spiritual people into entertaining thoughts of hurting you.
This is not what the verse means. God has called you to be a provoker. You are supposed to influence people. You are supposed to affect their behavior and cause them to do things. The provoking you are called to do is the provoking of love. You are to provoke your friends, loved ones, and even enemies to love. Start learning, not just how to relate to people, and not just how to love people, but how to provoke them to love. Pray, and move in the Spirit.Think about what you need to do to provoke that person to love. Do it. God has called you to be a holy provoker.
