It is easy to grow old. Just do nothing and you'll grow old - not only in life - but in the Lord. It is easy to let yourself lose the youthfulness of your relationship with God. How do you stay young in the Lord? One of the overlooked and forgotten secrets of youthfulness in God is found in the ancient Hebrew word, NORAH. Norah is sometimes translated as 'awful' - but it really means awesome. God is NORAH - awesome and awe-inspiring. The first believers were filled with life and youthfulness in their walk with God. In Acts 2:43, it is written, ''everyone kept feeling a sense of awe.'' They knew it as NORAH - and they were filled with it - reverence for God, awe over God, wonder at God.
When we first come to God we are filled with a sense of awe, reverence and wonder. Often in all the godly routines and rituals we lose the NORAH of God. If you want to be young in the Lord again, come back to Him today as a little child, for the first time. Rediscover the NORAH, of knowing Him, and His Word.
TODAY'S MISSION
Have your regular quiet time with the Lord today, but this time seek Him as a little child. Come to Him with a new hunger for His Word and His touch. Let His love renew your spirit.
