In Luke 23:33-34, it is written, "When they came to the place called The Skull, there they crucified Him...Yeshua, Jesus said, "Father forgive them, for they don't know what they're doing." do you realize what an amazing thing this is? He is naked, hanging on the cross, held up by Roman nails through his hands and feet. His life is ending because of His enemies. His body is wracked with excruciating pain - and what is He doing? He is praying for them - praying for those who nailed Him to the cross! He is thinking about them and their needs. He is bleeding to death - because of them - and He's more concerned with their salvation. He's forgetting about Himself on the cross and putting Himself in the shoes of others.
This is love. It is one thing to put yourself in the shoes of others, especially your enemies. But it is another to do this while hanging on a cross. He did! If in all His pain He could forget about Himself to love His enemies, how much more can you forget about yourself and care for others, even your enemies.
TODAY'S MISSION
Write down one area in which you know you have been wrong. Take responsibility, seek out that person and ask forgiveness. Forgive any one who has done wrong to you.
