It's a somewhat blurry line for me, and I think a lot of it comes down to word choice.

• I am, as you have noted, very uncomfortable with words like "veneration" and "prayer" being used in relation to Icons.
• On the other hand, words like "contemplation" and "meditation", and "education" and "memorial", don't give me the fits at all.

Go figure. ;-)
