Rowan Williams's boss, Queen Elizabeth II, is said to be a big advocate of Christian unity. Given the reaction of everyone from the Coptic Orthodox Church to the Southern Baptist Convention, ECUSA's innovations aren't helping Christian unity.

I have no 'inside scoop' on Buckingham Palace, but I'd bet that Her Majesty has undoubtedly made her feelings concerning the current situation with ecusa quite plain, especially to rowan the fuzzy.
