Not one, repeat one, Bush Administration official to counter the typical smears and lies of a very full morning of former RIPOTUS officials!

I wonder if Dubya simply ordered them not to appear on the Sunday shows, or the DNC propaganda arm that is big media just decided they wouldn't tell the other side's position.

Shame on Fox News, at least.

The best defense is an offense. If Bush and Co. doesn't start sending out powerful spokespersons, I am going to lose it. And please, somebody besides Powell and Rice. They are fine part of the time, but they sound scripted.

It looks like all the Sunday Morning talkies are in an October slump. None of the bunch appear to be "must watch" this morning.

Couldn't agree more.

Condi used to be interesting to watch. She seemed to have a real message. Any more, she just parrots the same lines over and over.

If GWB doesn't start getting his message out, he's going to be so far down that the Dems will replace him in 2004. Every negative, without counter, sinks into the psyche. Without any counter, it stays there. Average people don't spend more than a half-hour per day on national news. If all they hear is the liberal "he lied; quagmire; no WMDs" continually, they begin to believe it--because the Admin isn't countering it.

For all the ills, BClinton was expert at countering bad press. He'd have his people and his spin going, sometimes even before the bad press made the wires. Thus, most of the bad press was countered and neutered.

Summary of Sunday talk shows:

Bush lied/no WMD/quagmire/no plan/no this, no that, etc., etc.

Special prosecutor needed/CIA leak was inexcusable

Dems ran a poor campaign in California/could have happened anywhere/could be bad for Bush, Jr. in '04

Tony Snow is being quite tough on Senator Rockefeller, throwing his own previous statements at him.

Rockefeller scrambling.

Bush lied/no WMD/quagmire/no plan/no this, no that, etc., etc.

Substitute the words, Clinton, Gore or Carter and it would be a wonderful Sunday for freepers.

Special prosecutor needed/CIA leak was inexcusable

Again substitute the above names and we would be thrilled about the talk on the Sunday shows.

Under the same circumstances with a different administration, we would be dancing in the streets to see programs air the headlines and discuss what you suggested. Make it a republican and it's a sad day of programming.

Sorry about my soapbox, but I'm sick of us being critical when they've got us in a box and thrilled when we've got them in a box.

And we suffered a sad loss last night too in Madison.

Missed the first few minutes of MTP but gather they have talked about today's bombing in Iraq? If that is correct, it proves that although they pre-tape these shows, they can get current when necessary.

Last week, Russert repeated the erroneous story about Arnold admiring Hitler and ignoring the fact that the Times issued a retraction and admitted they had forgotten to put in one key word in the quote(s) and that word was "not" as in Arnold did NOT support Hitler.

Tony Snow has been doing a great job lately challenging these libs that make statements that aren't quite the truth. Go Tony!

Sorry - but there never was a time the Clinton administration wasn't represented on the Sunday talk shows. They ALWAYS had some shill representing them, and that along with a willing press that never asked hard questions.
