Informant tips police to potential mass killer
By Phillip Swift, Staff Writer
A 16-year-old Wickenburg youth with a desire to exceed the numbers killed in the Columbine High School massacre four years ago is in custody after police learned of his intent through a phone call from a concerned citizen. Authorities identified the youth as Mylan Lee Skaggs of Wickenburg. He is currently in custody at the Durango Juvenile Facility in Phoenix.
"We dodged a major bullet here," said Chief of Police Tony Melendez, speaking of the informant who called Wickenburg police headquarters this weekend. That person, whose identity is being protected by authorities, had been conversing on an Internet chat room with the suspect, who during the course of their "chats" disclosed his plans for a mass killing at the local high school.
Melendez said by contacting police, the informant gave authorities a chance to react-and blunt a tragedy he said was imminent.
"This is an ongoing investigation," he said. "We're playing full throttle on this one."
Melendez added, "This is one of the biggest things I've been involved with based on my 32 years in law enforcement."
A public forum to address the "Internet threat" and also several recent bomb threats at the high school is set for 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9 at the WHS Media Center. Superintendent Archy Hamm said the forum's intent is to provide an opportunity for parents and the general public to ask questions "and get the facts out," in response from officials that include Melendez and fire chief Ed Temerowski, who have both been invited.
Potential tragedy avoided
A potential tragedy was averted when a person Skaggs was conversing with online called the police about 4:30 p.m. Sunday, setting off an intense 36-hour police investigation that resulted in his arrest early Tuesday, after his residence was located, a search warrant obtained and two computers and an arsenal of weapons were found at the residence.
"We had a concerned citizen give us a call," said Melendez, who said WPD officer Ken Lutkiewicz took the call and was the case officer. "The informant said this individual was using a lot of profanity about what he wanted to do to Wickenburg."
Melendez said that call, in which Skaggs also reportedly told the informant "Just watch the news," triggered an all-out response by the WPD and other law enforcement agencies.
"We were concerned that it (threat of mass killings) might be in activation on Tuesday," Melendez said. Following an interrogation by Lutkiewicz, Skaggs was arrested and charged with interference with an educational institution.
Melendez said other charges are forthcoming. "We have additional charges," he said.
Working with the Department of Public Safety, authorities were able to locate the youth's address by tracking down his computer server. With the exact location known, the WPD obtained search warrants from Maricopa County Superior Court which were served between 4-5 a.m. Monday. Seized in the warrants search were two computers and "numerous weapons," Melendez said, including handguns, rifles and shotguns. He said "support documentation" for the case-including a detailed diary-was also found in the residence.
'Looking for a killing field'
Melendez said the youth-who was reportedly home schooled-expressed no hostility toward the high school or its students. "He said he was looking for a killing field, like Wickenburg High School."
Skaggs also told police his motivation to commit such a crime was to gain recognition. "He felt like he was of an age where he had to do this or there was nothing left for him," the chief said.
Melendez said unlike the Columbine killers, Skaggs was not suicidal; he had no plans to kill himself.
"He planned to go on a rampage and then give himself up," said Melendez. The youth's plans were meticulously detailed in the diary police obtained and Melendez said "what made the hairs stand up" on the back of his neck was that a profile of the boy brought up "eight of 10 indicators" of a mass murderer.
The police chief reiterated the importance of anyone getting any information about the possibility of such a crime being planned to report that information to authorities.
"We are very fortunate that we received the tip when we did," he said, indicating that the time frame for the youth to commit the crime "was very close a day or two."

Because of these so called politically correct things, mankind is turning into little mind controled robots so they are no longer allowed to have thoughts of their own. Through forced thought comes anger. Through the forced anger comes violence. Through violence comes destruction. And the very tools being used to stop seperation creates more seperation than ever existed since creation.
AGAIN - it's the press!
The powers that be are manipulating mankind. Through the power of liberal TV, film, the press and broadcasts they are fabricating stories at such a excedingly fast pase that the human conscienceness is brainwashed to the point of dullness and inaction. It is triggered by fear and reinforced by hatered. The duller the people are, the more the press can minipulate. It's the hidden darkside that no one notices.
Look at the press and Iraq. They're not reporting the light. They're reporting the darkness. Why? Because they want to keep it going. Chaos brings news stories. News stories bring ratings. Fear and hate creates viewers.

From the article: "The youth's plans were meticulously detailed in the diary police obtained and Melendez said "what made the hairs stand up" on the back of his neck was that a profile of the boy brought up "eight of 10 indicators" of a mass murderer.
Is name one of them?
If the first and middle names are "John Wayne" then the probability hits 100%...

WickenBurg is a SpeedTrap 50 miles outside Phoenix.
The officer Lutkiewicz in this story is a scumbag.
He stopped me on Hwy 60 going North heading out of Wickenburg in a 55 mph zone. I asked him what the speed limit was in the area and he said it was 25mph which was over a mile back. He gave me a ticket for going 49mph in a 25 mph zone. I went back to take pictures of teh area and the speed signs. When I did he came back behind me again, which was maybe a couple of hours later in the same area as I was on the shoulder taking pictures, so I left when I saw him trying to sneak behind me just under a little area that was lower than I was on the hill, so I left. I came back maybe 15 mnutes later and where the highway gets closer to Wickenburg and the speed goes from 55 to 45 Ken Lutkiewicz was writing a ticket to a car just a couple hundred feet where the speed changed. It goes 55 to 45 to 35 to 25 in a matter of a mile or 2, and he knows the traveler would not have been speeding getting closer to the city. He waits right where the speed changes and gives tickets. or writes tickets for lower speed limits when there was no true violation. I am pleading Not Guilty to his illegal citation. He has a history of improper procedures.See http://www.azduiatty.com/officer-cleared-of-dui-charges.htm
