Please Show More Respect

By

James Bredin

Did you want to know what the Empress and Jonnie do?

That Governor General lady and exalted few,

They travel and spend millions and you should show respect,

‘Cause they’re above politics and don’t care who you elect.

Because they travel the world with their servants and maids,

Hats off and bow your heads at their pompous parades,

Don’t you recognize that they’re aristocrats and gentry?

And they will do anything if it’s complementary.

Your taxes will go up ‘cause their travels are expensive,

Please don’t look glum cause it’s all so comprehensive,

And they never answer questions because they’re so high,

They’re way above the common folk – not like you and I.
