Ken Hamblin comments on Rush Limbaugh

Did anyone else hear the ludricrous statements that Ken Hamblin made on Rita's show just now?

Among other things, he said that "Rush was given the keys to the kingdom and let us down."

Then he proceeded to puff himself up, making a total jackass out of himself as far as I'm concerned.

I videotaped the whole segment and would replay it and transcribe it, but have to run out for a while right now.

But he supported the violation of our bills of rights and our declaration of independence by voting for and campaigning for drug war politicians.

For 15 years he has been a leader in the movement to erect multitudes of New Drug War Offices, and send hither swarms of Officers to harass us, and eat out our substance. Why should we have to give up our bills of rights and have our money stolen just because its the only way that people like Rush think they can be saved from themselves?

As a real conservative I have 2 things to say about these new "compassionate" conservatives:

1. It is not "compassion" at all to steal my money and violate my bills of rights to solve your own perceived drug problems.

2. Although it certainly would be educational for the new "compassionate" conservatives to have the Drug War guns levelled on themselves, it would not be just--2 wrongs don't make a right. But, justice does require that the "compassionate" conservative drug warriors repent to their victims for their drug warrior crimes of violating our bills of rights and stealing our money. Justice requires that the drug warriors beg for mercy from their victims that they not be made to have to make their victims whole.

I wonder what Ken Hamblins's opinion is of President Kennedy? After all, he had back problems, had his finger literally on the button of the "football" and was on opiates for his backpain. (Amongst other drugs).

We are talking about Rush Limbaugh here, not the President of the United States, not the Commander in Chief over the lives of our precious troops. So, it will be interesting in the days ahead to see the hypocracy of those in the media. Very interesting....

I am totally against the War On Drugs. I think it's madness.

However, I don't wish prison on Rush. I hope he comes out of this with a less simplistic view of drugs, but to hope that he goes to prison?

Why stop there? Why not hope that while he's in prison, he gets gang raped and gets AIDS? Better yet, why not execute Rush, his wife and his step children en masse like the Romanovs? Or kill Rush and Marta and then hang them by their heels, like Mussolini and his girlfriend?

I think that’s more than just a little exaggerated and melodramatic. Everyone has secrets, but it’s a minority that would rather die than have them reveled.

Life’s journey is short, but too long to be carrying that kind of baggage, living with that kind of fear. I’d suggest that someone who feels that way find someone they could confess to like a councilor or clergyman. If for no other reason, just to see that the world doesn’t end if someone knows.

I’ve stated my respect for Rush a couple of times on this thread. I named my kid Rush. Not because he’s my hero, but because he’s a good man and I think it’s a cool name. But I also recognize that Rush has become rich and powerful aggressively moralizing against those who lack self control. I think some of what’s coming at him is fair.

The “let he who is without sin” argument would be more convincing if it wasn’t so self serving. It’s only magnanimous if it’s applied to indiscretion of one’s ideological opponents. I’d recommend just taking the hit, admitting that he’s not a hero (just a good man) and moving on.

What if Rush, by going to prison like so many addicts before him, helps to educate our populace as to the insanity of the War on Drugs? It's easy for people to support mandatory minimums and tough drug laws when they don't know anyone who has to suffer the consequences of it. This doesn't mean that I hope Rush goes to jail any more than I think anyone in his position shuld go to jail, but I certainly hope that society comes out better as a result of this publicity and these types of discussions.

If while in prison, he gets raped and gets AIDS, I would hope that his plight would help others get involved in prison reform so that being sent to prison doesn't have to be synonymous with being raped. It's not that I think Rush should serve jail time, but if he doesn't when others in his position have had to, it's not going to help society at all, and won't help end the War on Drugs any sooner.

Ken Hamblin had lower back surgery about three years ago. He was in severe pain, talked about it one the air, and did his show anyway.

What I don't understand about Rush is if he had chronic pain, how did he manage to play so much golf? Some days he said he played 36 holes. I find this difficult to reconcile with having severe neck and lower back pain.

Izzat right? Don't tell me you actually took the word "die", literally. Hahahaha

I guess I should spell it out for some. When I used the word, "die" in that context, I meant it to convey the idea of wanting to crawl under a rock in embarrassment.

For instance -- I love to sit in a congregation when Dr. Steve Brown, Seminary professor at ORTS in Orlando, Florida, and a former pastor of churches for well over 30 years, fills in as a guest speaker at various and sundry churches all over the country wherein many of the people are total strangers to him.

This is usually the way he leads off all of his sermons":

"Can we talk? You know what? You don't scare me anymore. You used to scare me -- but I know you -- and you don't scare me any more. Every single one of you [Christians] in this room has a secret sin that you would just die [want to crawl under your chair] if you thought the rest of us would find out about it. ...."

I always think it's hilarious to watch the faces of the people when he says that. Very rarely does anyone laugh. Mostly they just sit there looking straight ahead with as totally blank a look on their faces as they can muster.

I am always jealous of him, because from where he is standing, he can see every single face -- straight on. Hahahahahaha

You totally missed the point, as I showed you above.

This is the only weakness to which Rush SUCCUMED.

That we have no plan in Iraq, that nothing is going well.

We do have a plan - any military action has a plan of action after the fighting. We have issued new currency, established citizen groups, set up a council, trained locals for police work.

I could go on and on with the liberal media promoting the fact that we should not have gone into Iraq, that there were no WMD, that the war is going badly. Yet - I don't see any need to. All on this board are very familiar with the liberal media bias.

It all comes down to - would it have been a wise decision to leave Saddam in power and do nothing? Or, would we be merely negligent in ignoring the facts that America is in danger. Frankly, I prefer a president that will insure we are safe instead of guessing and hoping we are safe.

The "drug" hysteria about Rush demonstrates how out of touch some people are with the medical realities of much of American society (including among the high and mighty) in the 21st century.
If people are going to have bed wetting episodes each time a conservative is outed for drinking, gambling, or having problems with medications for health problems, they will be very cranky campers.
