I wonder who will be the first poster here to suggest we "pray" for Rush Limbaugh.
I wonder who will be the first poster here to say, "OK, I was wrong last week when I said the media was lying -- so he IS addicted to painkillers."
I wonder who will be the first poster here to wonder how this affects Republican politics, etc.

I wonder who will be the first poster here to suggest we "pray" for Rush Limbaugh. Geez, talk about no class...you exude a complete lack of it. <P.Rush has asked for our prayers and I've been praying for him since I first of this last week.

I wonder who will be the first poster here to suggest we "pray" for Rush Limbaugh. If you care about him and believe in God, you have permission to pray.

I was right last week.

One thing he was always right about was that he was only expressing what millions already believe. He simply studied radio and the use of English to make money for it. As with Newt Gingrich, Rush is replaceable. It is true, after all, that his talent is on loan from God. He has fallen and squandered some credibility and influence. I'm impressed that he seems to be coming clean about it. People's first instinct is to lie. I wish him well and he is responsible for his actions, as you are for yours, and I am for mine.

I wonder who will be the first poster here to suggest we "pray" for Rush Limbaugh. Of course I will suggest we pray for Rush as I would for most anyone in this predicament, even Hitlery. Having seen a family member go through a number if surgeries and getting hooked on pain killers, and seeing the years of failure of trying to get off those drugs, I would not wish this on anyone.
Notice however that I have not put pray in quotation marks as you have.
By the way, my family member did succeed in getting off the pain killers as I believe Rush will.

I wonder who will be the first poster here to wonder how this affects Republican politics, etc. I'm not even close to the first one, but I'll say that the most famous rehab facility in the nation is named The Betty Ford Clinic.
Did Betty Ford ruin the Republican reputation?

I wonder who was the first poster to say that Rush has so far dealt with this perfectly. We cannot yet know how well he will deal with the rest of this. I don't care right now. The first honorable step has been taken. The first dishonorable step (of many) has been taken by a cocaphony of leftist fools.

I probably wasn't the first but since I was off work today and on freerepublic at the time I posted prayers for Rush as soon as he asked us to pray for him... right around 2:45pm EDT 10/10/2003.
I believed the Nat'l Enquirer story to a degree- no way would they come out like that w/o fact checking.
As far as effecting Republican politics etc., just because Rush is an addict doesn't change the fact that a limited government, representative republic is correct and much better than a socialist utopia. So it will have no negative effect.

I wonder who will be the first poster here to say, "OK, I was wrong last week when I said the media was lying -- so he IS addicted to painkillers." The problem is that, with so many media lies, the best approach is to assume they're lying until all the evidence is in.
The problem with prescription painkillers for chronic pain, is that docs get a lot of grief from the DEA if they prescribe a lot of them, so it's hard to get prescriptions even if you're in chronic pain
