Anyone ever take an oxy on this board? or a number of them? After my recent illness I could tell I was looking forward to the next one...and I am no fan of drugs at all. Never have done an illegal one in my life or even smoked a joint. But the oxy's were like being in heaven.

I have, following the amputation of my right foot. Was on a morphine pump while in the hospital as well. I was rather disappointed that I didn't see 'all the pretty colors'. Couldn't understand why people would be addicted to these things, but my doctor explained that if you really need them you won't get addicted to them.

Over the years I've known quite a few people who are addicted to prescription painkillers - all legal, prescribed by their doctors. Most of them it really interferes with the thought processes, slows them down mentally.

I am amazed that Rush functions as well as he does.

I take 5mg of oxycoden hydrocloride 4 times a day. I feel the relief but I take them with my transplant meds and do not abuse them. If the pain is not bad I do not take the pills. Sometimes I go for a coulpe of days without taking any. That is a small dose and they can be very addictive for many people.

I take prescribed Oxycontin and have for a couple years now. In fact, I'm on my way to my doctors appointment in about 15 minutes. If this drug is not taken as prescribed it is very dangerous. It is time-released and many users crush open the pill and release the narcotic ingredient at once. They come in 10mg, 20mg, 40mg, 80mg and a discontinued 160mg for obvious reasons. If you crush an 80mg tablet you are releasing the equivalent of 16 standard strength percocets. This is the problem.

Interesting that you should bring that up...I recently had a wisdom tooth removed, and I was prescribed Hydrocodone for the pain.

It was hell. My mind was swimming, visual perception was distorted and murky, I couldn't sleep, it was awful. After a couple days I just took some ibuprofen to take the edge off the pain and dealt with it.

Rush is the man! Our family is praying for him. Dittoes!
