Again, it depends on HOW you get them. If it IS proven that he didn't have for-real prescriptions for them then he should face prosecution.
Yes it is because physicians < snip > fear of losing their licenses.|
If you as a physician are prescribing a drug to treat a condition that is not improving and you KEEP prescribing it without consultation with others in the field to determine WHY there is no improvement then you should be investigated. There ARE situations where people are in constant pain and they do deserve the medication necessary to maintain their lifestyle. There's a difference between medication as a corrective agent and medication as a palliative agent but, EITHER WAY, its supply and administration should be monitored for the benefit and health of the patient.
I am really sick of < snip > does no harm to society < snip > do) is a criminal act.
Does no harm to society, huh? I've heard it conjectured that his abuse of the drug could have led to his hearing loss. Which he had surgery for. Which, maybe, an insurance company paid for? They paid for a self-imposed condition? If he, say, started chopping his fingers off one at a time and getting insurance to cover the damage/repair each time would THAT be as acceptable as physical damage caused by drug abuse? Go ask the others using the same insurance company how they like their rates going up for compensate for the coverage of the acts of idiots.
If these DEA or whatever < snip > too many tyrants enforcing them.
wow. wild rant. So, then, if hollywood can do it then everyone can do it and prevention/prosecution should be a first-come-first-served -type of thing?
So what? It was his decision, it is his life. It is none of your business to run his life, none at all. You are just a Rush hater who like all others is piling on on him for something which is not his fault. He was addicted by his doctor. He was criminalized by a bunch of bureaucrats looking for fame and to get even at him. That's what's going on here and we all know it.
