Confession is truly good for the soul. Well, except for yours, kiddo. You cannot help a man save what he simply ain't got.
At least the Grinch had a heart.

Well I was listening to him before one of his trips to Israel and he was talking about his personal rabbi. I assume he is Jewish.

If he thinks this, as you know, he will be toast.I am praying that Rush gets it. He's smart but plenty of smart people don't get it. One thing that bodes poorly for him is that he's doing this in response to being busted in the National Enquirer. That's not the proper motivation. However, we don't necessarily know what's going on in his head. This might just be his rock bottom, is all.
These people do not get it and I pray for them that they never have to.
Ditto that. There was nothing emptier than drug use for me. I never, and I mean never, had a good time on cocaine. After using, I would say to myself, "Wow. That really sucked."
Then I'd do it again.
Weird.

How does one become addicted on a pharmacy prescription? Usually, by getting the prescription filled.
There's some pretty dangerous stuff you can get a scrip for.

My guess is that the Lord has been trying to get this one's attention for many years. Rush needs to stop testing God's patience, get on his face before the Holy One, and admit that he is not his own master. That's my prayer - that Rush will come to the point of understanding that there is no strength within himself that will be sufficient. "My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness." 2 Cor. 12
I don't know what's gone on between your post and the end of this thread, annie, but I agree with you 100%.
Rush will be forced to totally rely on God during the coming days, and not himself......and my prayer is that he finds true strength, and healing from the Lord, Whom, I agree, is trying to reach him.

Conquer the beast of addiction first,I'm about 20 years from calling the addiction beat. 20 years from now is when I will call it over. Until then, I am one gram away from death. One day at a time.
then find a woman.
Got one. They told me at NA to work on myself for a year first, then you can try with a woman. The years nearly up.
Told her about the addiction issues today. Unlike the last woman, this one accepted my confession and embraced me. Told me we'd work through it together. Told me she cares for me very much so as long as I'm honest with her and sincerely stay on the recovery path, we'd be fine.
What a gal. I'm lucky as hell.
She's a knockout, too. What is it with me and knockout looking women?

no comment . . . just wanted to be 1400The proper phrase when grabbing a particular odometer-turning message number is "Snarf!".
Nothing else. No explanation, no explanation needed.
Just, "Snarf!"

Doesn't a person need rather large amounts to get addicted? or is this a myth perpetuated by the
National Enquirer-- "Rush took hundreds of pills daily" theme?
Taking a scrip according to the doctor's orders should not be at addiction levels. Is that not the case? Isn't the physician majorly culpable here? IF the scrip says take "as needed for pain" & they run out doesn't the doctor need to do a close evaluation to see if the pills actually did what they were supposed to do?
Forgive my ignorance here.
To: Nov3
Thought the personal rabbi was a close friend of his. Last I knew, Rush was a non-active Methodist-type.

My Dad got addicted to Oxycontin very quickly, just by getting some from his oncologist, and some from his GP.
It's a quickly addicting drug. Fortunately he was old and frail enough to start hallucinating, so we were alerted to it, and he was hospitalized and removed from the drug.

None better to be addicted to than the Great One.
Glen Beck just doesn't cut it most of the time not "right=correct" as much as Rush and I don't get Hannity here during the day.
Rotsa Ruck with the sweets..LOL
I'm gonna go have a bowl of Blue Bell Ice Cream Pecan Pralines and Cream and its good....

Theoretically, sure. Doesn't always work out like that though. The shit is just as addictive as hell and doctors can only go on a patients word and their own experience, really.

Glen Beck just doesn't cut it most of the time not "right=correct" as much as Rush and I don't get Hannity here during the day. Don't worry about missing Hannity. Just set up a tape recorder and play back the phrase "Yuh know" about 300 times an hour and you will have the essence of Mr. Hannity.
Hannity is to Rush like swamp water is to Chevas Regal.
