Yep- I think the story that the attached link in that post referred to made that clear. But it can be confusing to drop into the middle of a thread- many FR threads take unpredictable twists and turns, sort of an information-age example of Brownian motion.

No, no sarcasm, I was commenting "in general" as to the legality, but not the moral considerations.

Normally, I would respond with something like "exception to the rule", but this discussion is probably applicable to those very exceptions.

You're correct, while access may be legal, use may not be.
However, obtaining access through several legal sources without informing those sources of what you are doing is probably illegal in and of itself.
I would venture to guess that full disclosure to one's physician is required somewhere in the law.

I agree about the unpredictible twists and turns on the large posts. I've always viewed these as like the game of telephone - you look at the early posts which generally are on topic and then go to the later posts (say posts larger than 200) and they bear no resemblance to the original topic.

"Part of what you have heard and read in the past week is correct. I am addicted to prescription pain medication. I first started taking prescription painkillers 5-6 years ago following spinal surgery. The surgery was unsuccessful and I continue to have severe pain in my lower back and neck...two herniated discs. Rather than opt for additional surgery for these conditions I chose to treat the pain with prescribed medication...turned out to be highly addictive. Have tried to break my dependence...twice checked in. Recently agreed with doctor about next steps. After broadcast check myself in to treatment center for 30 DAYS to once and for all break hold of medication. Array of guest hosts.
