While I argue for freedom, I am called a "druggie" , yet I do not use any drugs. My foes fight to keep drugs illegal while they buy them on the black market.

It never ceases to amaze me how so many people around here pay lip service to the concepts of freedom, liberty smaller government and self determination, yet they have absolutely no problem when the police (the "good guys"), wearing black ski masks serve a seach warrant by smashing in someone's front door and charge in with sub machineguns. If after the Founders signed the Declaration of Independence had been able to see what this country has become, they would have likely just thrown up their hands and sent an apology to the King of England for all the trouble.

Once again let me repeat that RUSH is a Hyporite when it comes to the "Drug abuse issue."

HE said on his show that TREATMENT is not the answer to
drug Addiction, but Jail time was.

Where was his compassion for addicts ???

And as Ann Coulter said brilliantly and funny as usual tonight- just wait until Rush is out of Detox and is clean.. boy will he give them Hell then. Let's hold the fort until then and pray for him in the meantime. We know that it matters.

I am sure there would be more than one. As you stated, Rush is human and deserves our prayers, not our judgement.

I don't know where the phrase "piling on" originated with this scampaign against Rush but I do recall seeing your football graphics with the ref.

I've since heard this phrase a couple times in discussions on radio about the news reports and idiotorials.

You may have been the one to originate a very appropriate description of what is happening.

Rush has asked for our prayers, and he most certainly has mine. This is an important event in his career and his life.

I pray that, with God's blessings upon him. Rush will be able to gain the upper hand on his addictions and come back stronger than ever before.

I am not alone in this desire, and God will no doubt take note of the prayers of millions of his fans.

Meanwhile, may the curses of his thousands of leftist enemies fall back upon them sevenfold.

I have no problem with most of your post. And hey, I'm against the WOD myself. But you went over the line on one point.

Read this sentence again. See if you don't find the tiniest thing wrong with your implication and blanket accusation here.

What law did Bennet break to deserve to be invoked in this sentence? He never talked about gambling. His own religion doesn't even call gambling a sin. To claim he "tramples the law into the ground" is obscenely unjust, especially when you think about how harsh a microscope he has been under for over a decade. He probably -is- a bloody saint compared to most of us, cause most of us couldn't stand 1/100th the scrutiny he lives under for his crime of acknowledging right and wrong.

Separate but related thought:

Hypocrisy is the only sin I know of that one can commit over and over and over while simultaneously slamming everyone else guilty of it into the ground... without ever being called a hypocrite.

All other sins are open to the charge of hypocrisy... except hypocrisy itself. That charge can never be made to stick.

The implications are enormous. It is the only moral authority that remains in our culture, and it's free of charge to everyone, no matter how disgusting a life they may lead.

Out of curiousity, what book and verse of Scripture do you attribute the quotation? I had always associated the former quote as a myth and had never heard or read the latter as being a passage in Scripture.

There is a huge difference between becoming an addict from a prescription drug and becoming an addict from an illegal substance which is used purely for 'recreational' or psychodelic use.

I don't remember Rush ever disagreeing with the medicinal use of drugs, even marijuana where truthfully postured. But he did have the courage to call the kettle black when he observed 'druggies', i.e. people who sought drug induced states rather than natural states, who falsely claimed to use marijuana as a medicinal drug when they instead simply wanted to get 'high'.

My biggest contribution has been to remain a conservative and not give in to political party loyalty at the expense of conservative ideals.

In all likelyhood, it doesn't have to last any longer than how long Mr. Limbaugh wishes to remain drug free; eg. the rest of his life.

Quite true. He was, publically, vocally anti-drug all these past years while his home life was another matter that didn't come-to-light until this week.

Will the future hold more of the same?
