List Of Transition Committee Members
Governor-elect Arnold Schwarzenegger announced the members of his Transition Committee chaired by Congressman David Dreier (R-San Dimas).
"In my campaign, I said that I would reach across the political aisle and bring the best and brightest people together to help us solve the problems facing California," Schwarzenegger said. "The Transition Committee I am announcing today is a distinguished group of men and women who share my commitment to restoring California to greatness."
Schwarzenegger announced his Transition Committee at a press conference in Santa Monica with the chairman of the Committee, Congressman Dreier.
Transition Committee A Transition Committee that will comprise 65 members who are leaders in their respective fields and are drawn from a broad range of professional, community, and academic backgrounds. The committee will be coordinated by the Staff Director to bring forward recommendations of individuals to serve in senior positions in the Schwarzenegger administration. Director of Independent Audit The director of the independent audit, Donna Arduin is currently on leave as Director of the State of Florida's Office of Policy and Budget. As director, Arduin oversees the Florida Governor's budget and policy recommendations, with responsibility for overseeing Florida's $50 billion state budget. While many states have developed budget deficits, Florida's budget maintains $2.7 billion in reserves. Prior to this position, Arduin served as director of the New York State Division of the Budget in 1989, First Deputy Director of the New York State Division of the Budget from 1995 to 1997, and as Chief Deputy Director of the State of Michigan's Office of Management and Budget for the State of Michigan from 1992 to 1994.
"Donna has served as a fiscal and budget expert for some of the largest states in the country," Schwarzenegger said. "Her experience, expertise and keen mind make her the right person for this critical job."
Transition Committee Staff Congressman Dreier announced that Jim Richardson will serve as Staff Director of the Office of the Transition Committee. Currently chief of staff to Senate Republican Leader Jim Brulte, Richardson has also served as Chief of Staff for Assembly Republican Leader Bill Leonard, and Chief Administrative Officer for the Assembly Rules Committee.
Dreier also announced that Rob Stutzman will serve as Communications Director for the transition team. Stutzman currently serves as co-communications director for the Schwarzenegger for Governor campaign, and has also served as communications director for the California Department of Justice.
Sacramento Transition Office Dreier announced that the Transition Office is located in Sacramento, which will serve as the base of operations as the governor-elect builds his staff.
