Schwarzenegger's auditor pick 'no stranger to tough budget times'

Gov.-Elect Arnold Schwarzenegger's choice to head the audit of California's $99 billion budget is known as a fiscal conservative not afraid to cut spending, say those who have worked with her.

Donna Arduin, the budget director for Florida Gov. Jeb Bush since 1999, will lead the team of auditors combing through California's budget for waste and duplication -- as Schwarzenegger promised during his campaign.

Arnold is the man of action. As I heard, he is using the 3 B-s: hire the "Best, Brightest, Boldest".

She sounds like a great pick. I think the others are just window dressing. It is encouraging that he picked a supply-sider for the most important task. Here's hoping for the best for CA!

Whatever his ulterior motives for seeking the governorship, it certainly isn't to move up to President (he is ineligible for that post since he is foreign born). Having said that, I would imagine that Arnold would have a "what have I got to lose" attitude when making the tough and potentially "political suicide" type of decisions.

World-class body building is all about pain and who can endure more of it than anyone else. As a body builder, Arnie would workout through the most excruciating pain you can imagine, until he threw up -- everyday, twice a day. They can throw the kitchen sink at him and he won't quit.

I also read somewhere that he pumped iron until he passed out, got up and did it all over again.

Hopefully she can convince arnold to cutback on services for illegals - I know Arnold won't reinstate Prop187, but I don't think cutting some services to illegals is asking too much - and it willl boost his popularity immediately.
