Whatever his ulterior motives for seeking the governorship, it certainly isn't to move up to President (he is ineligible for that post since he is foreign born). Having said that, I would imagine that Arnold would have a "what have I got to lose" attitude when making the tough and potentially "political suicide" type of decisions.

World-class body building is all about pain and who can endure more of it than anyone else. As a body builder, Arnie would workout through the most excruciating pain you can imagine, until he threw up -- everyday, twice a day. They can throw the kitchen sink at him and he won't quit.

I also read somewhere that he pumped iron until he passed out, got up and did it all over again.
