Hard for Cheney to line his pocket from the "poor" Palestinians who need all that aid just to buy suicide belts.

but the Egyptians were not taking steps to stop them.

What? The 'moderate' Arab country of Egypt was not trying to stop their Arab brothers from smuggling arms? /sarc

A couple of reasons:

Firstly, it's their land, acquired during a defensive war, and they have no intention of abandoning their property, not to mention the Israelis living there.

Secondly, Gaza is a strategic buffer zone. Abandoning Gaza would effectively increase the length of Israel's border with Egypt and allow the terrorists to operate that much closer to Israel's cities and towns. If it's bad now, it would be ten times worse as a de facto terrorist state.

OTOH, If there is an all-out war tens of millions of arabs and muslims will join the palestinians and israel will lose.

Yeah, right.

Israel, with our help, will kick all their tails. The Muslims are cowards, and the world's worst soldiers.

Muslims are cowards? Tell that to the American Soldiers who fought along side the Turks during the Korean War, who praised the Turkish warriors as some of the toughest they have ever imagined. Tell that to the Chinese and North Korean soldiers who were absolutely slaughtered by Turkish Soldiers, even though the Chinese had far superior numbers. Tell that to the Serbians, probably the most hardcore fighters in the world today, about how cowardly the Muslims are...

Tell it to the Israelis, who have defeated the combined armies of a number of Arab states more than once...and who will do it again if necessary.

The hardest-core fighters in the world today by light-years are Americans.

And I have wondered why and Western governments had not at some point state that they too could not beheld responsibile for their own citizens who ,ight or did act "individually" in a violent manner against those current governments who claim the same paralalys for sucide bombers and armed killers. After all, tit for tat, a bubba or two in a pickup truck driving into Gaza might just chance the general populations opinion if Gaza school kids or families in their homes on religious holidays were blown up....

Cowardice is blowing up men, women, and children with rat-poisoned and nail-laced bombs. It is blowing up commuters on buses. It is hijacking planes full of civilians and flying them into public buildings. That is the chief modern cowardice of Islam.

And their armies, notwithstanding the exception of Turkish gallantry as allies of the US and Britain, are notoriously poor.

Do you really think the Muslims would have defeated the Serbs without the help of Bill Clinton and Wesley Clark?

I'm not really sure you can call a person who voluntarily blows himself up or crashes the plane he is riding in a coward. Evil perhaps, but a coward? I don't know if I could push the button.

Arab armies are notoriously poor because Arab economies are notoriously poor.

When I was referring to the Serbs, I was referring to their hundreds of years fighting the Turks. Ask a Serb - Turks are their traditional enemies - but there is a respect between the two parties.

Besides, Clinton and Clark never defeated the Serbs. They only managed to blow up some decoy tanks, leaving the Serbian military pretty much unscathed. LOL.

LOL...well, you do have a point there. ;-)

But they forced a political solution on the Serbs by military means anyway, did they not?

Yes they did - little Serbia can't be expected to stand up to NATO.
