The inability to fire is one we forget when we get frustrated. The nature of intelligence and diplomacy is such that experience and sources are very important though..
It is also apparent they get mossbound. There are ideologues and and partisan liberals to contend with .This is not good,no matter who is in the White House.

Who sent Wilson on his folly is the SCANDAL.
. The version of the story that still fits the facts is in that Bob Novak Sun-Times column from July. Novak wanted to know why Wilson had been chosen to go to Africa. Its one thing not to be a card-carrying neocon, quite another to be as antipathetic to the administration and the war as this fellow. The White House asked the CIA, the CIA recommended Wilson, and their recommendation was accepted automatically. But what the original leakers told Novak was that it was Mrs Wilson whod proposed her husband for the job. The Company responded that their counter-proliferation officials came up with Wilson and they only used the wife to contact him.
Novak was sniffing around the real scandal..
There is a rogue facation in the CIA..

"He spends his days dreaming of the first sentence of his obituary: Joseph C. Wilson IV, the Bush I administration political appointee who did the most damage to the Bush II administration. Imagine Michael Moore and his ego after dropping 300lbs on the Atkins diet and youre close enough. My favorite part.

I am aware.Wilson's accusations lack factual backup and he has no credibility in my book.I call him "Limelight Wilson".
If you have noticed though, former CIA agents are appalled that her CIA connection was revealed and I take it seriously.
I know full well, however, that this is a political hunt against the President by Wilson ,the dims, and the media.I never want anything to hurt agents or national security, but the points made by Steyn are valid and should be recognized in mainstream media and PBS!.

Joe's "intelligence gathering" techniques suggests that the CIA recruits using match book covers.

Yep. Libs are addicted to their gubbermint jobs and form a permanent opposition to any Republican administration. Feeding at the gubberment trough is where socialists and our Democrats are at.

Exactly what do our J schools teach? Nothing. Just like the schools that our CIA agents apparently come from. If the dream of America dies, leftist control of the universities and schools will be reason number one.

If you have noticed though, former CIA agents are appalled that her CIA connection was revealed and I take it seriously. How credible are these former CIA agents?
For instance, the one who claimed the 40-year-old Plame had been a covert agent going back 30 years?
The CIA is waging war against President Bush, as Steyn and others have pointed out. I for one trust very few of those who claim to speak for it.

Exactly! This is a case of Wilson and his CIA cabal going on
offense as a good defense.

That is Larry Johnson.....former CIA agent who wrote an Op-Ed in the month before 9/11 that stated America had nothing to fear from terrorism.
He got it so wrong .

This is what happens when Bush leaves Clinton appointees in positions of high power in the intelligence communities. Whatever his reason it's time to put his own people in charge. My feeling is he left them in to get a feel for what Clinton was up too. The time has come to pass to get rid of the Clinton leftovers.
