Freeper Interview Series: Renfield
Patriot Paradox ^

Posted on 10/09/2003 5:22:29 AM PDT by sonsofliberty2000

The latest interview in the Freeper Interview Series is now up at Patriot Paradox. The interview is with Renfield, and here are some highlights:

What is your view of the Democratic Presidential candidates at this time? Who has the best chance?

I am delighted that the Democratic Party has this group of hysterical dwarves vying for its nomination. Any one of them has an excellent chance of bearing George McGovern’s standard into battle, with predictably similar results.

Do you have any pet peeves?

No, but on rare occasions, our pets are peevish.

What two or three accomplishments have given you the most satisfaction? Why?

I have accomplished a lot, I suppose, but one thing really stands out. I can stand and walk and run and live without pain. A few years ago, I had a severe and debilitating medical condition, one that put me in unimaginable pain. I didn’t know if I would be able to walk or live a normal life again. I reached the “call Jack Kevorkian” stage, but I was operated upon by a skilled and valiant neurosurgeon, and after a long and fitful recovery, I am healthy and pain-free, and I have learned how to prevent the condition from recurring. A lot of petty concerns disappear when one recovers from a serious illness or disability.

The FIS is an series of interviews with Freepers to help us understand where our compatriots are coming from. Interviews will be posted twice weekly and we hope this helps us unite and stir up the conservative base. If you have a suggestion of a Freeper who merits interviewing, let me know by Freepmail. Suggesting your own self is perfectly acceptable.

I really like this series. It's amazing...

Nice interview, renfield. I'm so glad to read about your freedom from pain--I felt the same way after I had eye surgery and could suddenly see after a lifetime of being nearly blind...every day became a miracle of beauty.

Another good one! You are so the man!

Actually, this is a FReeper I have never had the pleasure of meeting before...
Hi Renfield, nice to meet you.
As for this quote...
>>I have no children and don’t expect to be remembered by anyone.<<
You sound like the kind of person making a difference. Kids or no kids, I think you will be remembered.

And what is your degree in? Can you explain it?

Thank you for your kind words. I am very conservative, even by the standards of this group, and expected to be flamed when my interview was published, as I am definitely not politically correct in the modern sense. The response of all of you is a pleasant surprise.

My B.S. degree is in general agriculture, and my M.S. degree is in Agronomy (a general term which includes Crop Science and Soil Science). My research was principally in Nitrogen fertilizer management, although I work in a different branch of Soil Science now. If I had my life to do all over again (and I may yet do this), I would have pursued more of a Classical Studies curriculum, and then become a History professor...although in today's absurdly politicized academic climate, I might not have been able to find work.

That is amazing! I think that will be the degree I will try to get my three year old into. She is a natural at finding soil interesting. She can then team with my five year old who wants to be an entomologist. Between the two of them, all farms should improve.

Great interview! Hope to see you on the boards!
