"My liberal brother was incense with the smear of Rush, Arnold, and Bush this last week-an astonishing admission. He said he saw nothing derogatory in Rush's ESPN comment and ..."Really? Amazing. I thought the Bolshekrats were all licking their chops over the pseudo-brouhahas that took place over the past week.
Veddy interesting...Thanks for letting us know about that.

Would YOU loudly deny it if a newspaper or tabloid publicly accused you of buying painkillers illegally? Rush has been unwilling to deny it, and instead, hired a famous attorney. No--I probably would be screaming like an idiot, and demanding retractions, etc etc. That's exactly my point. By not adding "food" to the frenzy, Rush is taking it out of the headlines. IOW--he's handling this masterfully. He has said nearly every day since this thing broke that as soon as he has more information, he will tell us (his listening audience) 'EVERY THING'. I, at least, trust Rush to do this. If I'm wrong about this, so be it, but up to this point, I have had every reason to trust Rush.
I would also suspect that Rush's "famous attorney" is advising him on what to do.

Rush's legal problems could be totally unrelated to drug use. He had a drug dealer as a housekeeper. If she sold drugs from his house he is liable. He could risk forfeiture of his house. Oh please. You actually think Rush would have people dealing drugs out of his mansion? Junkies showing up at his door looking to cop their pills?
Get real.

Good article.

Yes, it was.

I probably would be screaming like an idiot, and demanding retractions, etc etc. You would have righteous indignation denying all charges at a press conference. How dare anyone smear your good name, ruin your reputation and and possibly your career!

Hey cyber, I haven't convicted him or said he is an addict. I said: "even if it is shown he developed an addiction." That means I don't think he is, but the possibility always exists for each of us.

I don't think Rush would tolerate dealing but it is common practice for the housekeeper to have a key. Part of the reason for having one is comming home to a clean house when you have been away. Rush lives on the fly. Although most of his shows are broadcast from Palm Springs a good portion of them are from NY. He vacations 3-4 times a year for golf and then there are the celebrity events. Wouldn't matter to the cops if he was in residence when dealing took place. His house, his responsibility.

Well .. maybe I'm being a little harsh .. but "if" means there is doubt .. and I DO NOT HAVE ANY DOUBT.
The reason may be that my 2 youngest sons were involved in the drug culture. They are finally out of it - and in their mid-thirties have become productive citizens - but "drug" people have certain personality characteristics. A lot of it has to do with lack of self-esteem, and self-confidence, etc.
RUSH DOESN'T HAVE THOSE PERSONALITY CHARACTERISTICS. That's why I just don't have any doubts.

Been there, done it, threw up on the tee-shirt.
I've met one or two people I'd *never* expect were abusing drugs, and they began after having them prescribed.
However, with Rush's energy, his eloquence, and his ability to keep on topic and follow logic (very difficult to do while under the influence) I doubt he was hooked, except maybe on Cohibas.

Rush is anything but eloquent today. He's slurring his speech and fumbling badly. I'm concerned.

Just as soon as he is legally able, Mr. Limbaugh should come clean about whether he has a drug problem. If he does, he should admit it and seek help. What if he had and did. These charges are from last year.

Well .. there can always be exceptions to every rule. And .. personal experience can trump some of them.
But .. I agree that Rush being in any kind of "drugged" state is impossible to get past the smell test.
