I've never seen a liberal win an election with a whopping 15 point margin!

I just did last night. :-P

4) HOPEFULLY the GOP Senate will see this obvious trend and get tough on the foolish Democrats and their silly obstructionist tactics. Republicans should now be emboldened and they should govern like conservative Republicans.

I'm not holding my breath on this one. The only time Republicans actually demonstarte any testicular fortitude is when dealing with other Rupublicans. Look at the Texas rediscticting fight. After all the democRATs did to stop it, it's the Republicans who end up stonewalling each other. Perhaps DeLay's reentry into the effort will fix things. Tom needs to knock some heads together. (Yeah, this one's p!$$ing me off)

inspired a lot of crossover votes from the Dems

Well, I don't know what your definition of "a lot" is, but the dem's voted 80% against recall, 20% for recall. And most of those voted for Busta'. Arnold got most of the Repub's and 55% of the registered Independents, which is the fastest growing affiliation in Calif. by 4 to 1.

Your statement that "a lot" of dem's voted for Arnold is incorrect.

You be quiet now. Don't let the rats know that McAwful is really one of our moles. He is doing the same thing to the Rats that Patty Buckwheat did to Perot's Deformed party.

I think McCaullife is an agent of the Republican party. He's awesome. Since he's presided over the DNC, the Democrats lost the Senate and lost seats in the House despite the fact that it was an off-year election and the party in power usually loses seats. Next, he convinces all prominent Democrats to stay out of the recall race, so Cruz can get his clock cleaned. If he were a CEO of a public company, he'd have been kicked out by the Board long ago, and if the Board was rubber stamping him, a shareholder revolt would kick out the Board. But since the Democrats will do whatever is good for Bill Clinton, they keep this guy in, to the further detriment of their party.

PS, you left out the other big state failure by Bubba and our mole McAwful. That happened last November when Jeb Bush kicked liberal butts all over Florida.

10 years ago: 1993. Bill Clinton was President. The House was Democrat. The Senate was Democrat. Most governors were Democrats (But strangely enough, not California). Today: Republican President. Republican House. Republican Senate. Most governors are now Republican. And we've got California back. Republicans now control the governorships in California, New York, Florida, and Texas, as well as erstwhile Democratic states like Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Maryland.

This means that for years to come, the Dem field is going to consist of Washington types, who aren't good presidential candidates, and governors of small states like Vermont.

Excellent analysis! You are absolutely right! The Dems's biggest "rising stars" in the states are Ed Rendell in Pennsylvania and Jennifer Granholm in Michigan. Granholm was born in Canada and cannot run for President. Rendell was DNC Chairman and Al Gore mouthpiece in 2000 and is as much of a Washington guy as Kerry or Gephardt. A really, really thin bench there.

You're dreaming.
Arnold won because he's Arnold and Davis is Davis.
How well he governs will determine everything.

I think McCaullife is an agent of the Republican party.

I've entertained that possibility about Clinton for some time.

3) Take a look at the Democrat Presidential candidates, could there be a weaker field? I don't think so.

The reason for this is that McCauliffe and the Clintons wanted to stand behind their man Gray Davis (even though he had a 27% popularity rating). They did not want to put a strong candidate in because they underestimated the anger of Californians. McCauliffe, Clinton and Co. should be sent a gift from the Republican Party.

4) HOPEFULLY the GOP Senate will see this obvious trend and get tough on the foolish Democrats and their silly obstructionist tactics. Republicans should now be emboldened and they should govern like conservative Republicans.

I don't think they will. They are all about hanging on to power not changing the country. Hardly any (R's) in the Senate have a backbone. In fact, electing Arnold might embolden the RINO's to tell conservatives that the libs in the Republican Party have the upper hand.

5) President Bush is doing a fine job, he'll handily win re-election, he can be comfortable in pushing his conservative programs and he should definately fight hard to put conservative judges on the Supreme Court to fill any upcoming vacancies.

He better start pushing a more conservative agenda or he is going to have his core base (social conservatives) luke warm or cold about his re-election. He will these 15 million votes to win in '02. There were a lot of social conservatives who did not vote for him because they were not sure about him. He will also need a fairly strong economy or the Dems and media will use the California scenario (ousting an incumbent) as the way Americans should feel about the Presidential election.

6) The Klintoons have been horrible for the Dem Party on a national basis. The Dems can't seem to recognize this and throw McCauliffe out of the DNC and shun both Bill and Hillary. The Clintoons will continue to drag the Dems down :)

This will be the interesting fight within the Rat Party (if there is a fight). Will there be any Democrats who start standing up to Bill and Hillary? If I was Dean, I would. Will any of the other Democrats realize they are in a sinking ship when Clinton and company are running strategy for the Dems? Sharpton has been the lone wolf. It will be interesting to see if this election emboldens any other Dems.

"...Republicans got about 3 out of every 5 votes in a very liberal California..."

By running a very liberal candidate.

What does that prove?

".......don'ttell the Stupid Dems that the Clintons are the reason they are losing EVERYWHERE..."

The Clinton's aren't the reason for the collapse of the Dims - just the most-visible manifestation of it.

They're the symptom, not the disease.

Agreed. The Democrats are doing it to themselves throughout the country. Bob Mulholland. Jim McDermott. Terry McAuliffe. Shiela Jackson-Lee. Just a few examples of their tendency towards self-destruction.

Arnold has no coattails to offer for other conservatives. He's not going to sway anyone to vote for GWB in 2004.

The California Recall was not about social issues. It was about recalling a governor who's progressive fiscal policies have almost bankrupted a state. It was also about ending the corrupt special interests controlled lobby in Sacramento. Any conservative who runs deriding progressive fiscal policies and deriding lobbyist control of governance, can utilize Arnolds coattails.

Take a look at the Democrat Presidential candidates, could there be a weaker field? I don't think so.

If you have ever taken a look at the various Third World kleptocracies (defined as states that exist for the purpose of stealing), the one consistent feature is that there is no obvious successor to the Big Cheese for Life. Part of the security for the Big Cheese is that he brutally represses all up-and-comers who might possibly organize a resistance and take over the country.

The business of the Government, as embodied by the Big Cheese for Life, is to steal all the money, keep the bulk for himself, and distribute the remainder as necessary to various underlings to keep the peace. This is the model of the modern Democratic Party.

The one exception to supressing all possible successors for the modern far-sighted Big Cheese for Life is to groom one or more of his sons to take over when he dies. Think Uday and Qusay. In our country, that position is filled by the wife, Hillary!.

I disagree. Their rising star is currently Richardson in New Mexico.

Will there be any Democrats who start standing up to Bill and Hillary? If I was Dean, I would.

If he were smart, he certainly would. There has to be at least 20% of the 'Rat party that really does not like Bill and Hillary! at all. It should not be too hard to mobilize these folks. Add these to the base he already has, and he could easily overwhelm the 10-man field.

When Bill and Hillary! go down, it will be from a knife in the back, not in the front. And this is how it will happen. Eventually some 'Rat has to realize there is more advantage opposing them than supporting them, and then the whole field will have an "Emperor's New Clothes" moment.

And I think that Howard Dean is just the man to wield the dagger.

he'll handily win re-election

A lot can happen in one year. I sincerely hope you are right, but....

Arnold will have three years in this term. The next gubernatorial election is 2006. Grayout was just reelected last year - Nov. 2002.
