i'm sure its easy to lay blame o the CA gop for abandoning Tom, yet from the prespective here in the east, with all the libs on the left coast he wouldn't have stood a snowballs chance in hell even if he had ARNOLDS endorsement. sacramento would have been gridlock till the next election and then all the blame would shift onto Tom. if arnold can't do it then we can still blame it on the dems!

I agree ... to blame the GOP for not supporting McClintock is rather silly. One should have blamed the GOP and Bush for not supporting Simon more in the general election, now that would make more sense. But when you don't have a primary in a recall election, it would have been foolish for the GOP to back McClintock.
