"The guy's eyes make him look like a fruit fly, it seems like he's looking in three directions at once.
I still have no respect for him."
That comment says a lot about you. You're judging the man based on his looks? His beliefs mean nothing?

He was a political hack and I in no way wished to suggest their was an iota of loyalty by McClintock to the Republican party or it's people. He has no loyalty to anyone but himself, is dangerous and that is obvious.
It's going dark, time to close the lid on the coffin of his Republican political future.

Rabid:
I'm sure I speak for many as I extend my sincere thanks for all of your positive, dignified efforts to get Tom's message across. You have done an excellent job in running this joint the past few weeks, encouraging lively discussion yet, at the same time, discouraging the crapola that has been sadly evident on so many other threads. You have been absolutely steadfast. I have no doubt that you will be generous in extending your support to our new Governor-Elect and, of course, I join you in that effort.
It is critical that we all pull together at this important moment in California's history. However, let me go on record as saying that if I am ever in a foxhole, I hope I'm in it with you and the rest of the "Tombots."
"Independent - I heard there are a lot of us on this forum!"
There are indeed. Enjoy "detox," and then come on aboard, the water's fine over here. :-)

I think Arnold is aware that there are many on the right that didn't get his full attention and hopefully some/many of his actions will keep us in mind. Not likely if McClintock supporters jump ship in the proverbial "taking my toys and going home" reaction.

All abandoning it will do is make it even worse. Exactly. Those who are absent rarely get a voice in the party direction. It's like complaining that your candidate didn't win so you're going to stop voting. Neither are useful conceits.

Is it time to cheer for some amorphous and immeasurably small "change" yet?

It's going dark, time to close the lid on the coffin of his Republican political future. Good thinking. We need a Democrat to unseat him. /mild sarcasm

And should Arnold make a mistake as Govenror, you hatless asses will be right back here with your pious "we told you so" comments, based on one error. I can hardly wait. Hypocrites.
Say, by the way...."principled tom" said something about dropping out of the race if he didn't have enough to overtake Arnold, so he wouldn't split the vote. What do you Tombots think of his lying?
To: Rabid Republican
"Final Ping! We fought the good fight"
We certainly did and een though Tom didn't win there are several pluses.
Tom now has national name recognition(bring on Boxer).
Bustamecha is not governor.
We got the Gray out!

Part of my reason for leaving the Republican Party is because it is populated with people I can't respect both at the leadership level and at the minion level. This became painfully obvious on this board.
It creeps me out. I never liked school bullies on the bus and I don't like them on the forum. Especially when they make personal attacks for lack of any other argument.

"He was a political hack"
In no way, shape or form does he fit the description of a "political hack", an individualist yes, but, since when are individualists dangerous? Since when is a man or woman who stands by his/her convictions and core beliefs dangerous? What is the danger? That he is not an automoton to the party?
Maybe he is through in your Style over Substance party, but, as long as he stays the course, I will always vote FOR him regardless of whether he is a party member or an independant.

And Arnold told Riordan he wasn't going to run. Except it was regarded as "brilliant showmanship".
There will be no need say anything if Arnold "makes a mistake". In that case, nobody will remember voting for him.

One would think so - but the majority in the party spoke when forming the platform - which a minority decided to abandon.
To: Exigence
Or marbles as the case may be.
To: jmc813
On issues alone, do you prefer Arnold or Tom? Irrelevant. Arnold is the governor, Tom is not.
