TOM MCCLINTOCK DAILY EDITION - 10/8/03 - GOING DARK!

Posted on 10/08/2003 7:10:21 AM PDT by Rabid Dog

As many of you know this has been a local, regional, national news and views thread. I want to thank all of you that have respected its intent. When I first started this thead, I was on the fence between Arnold and Tom. Within a week, it became clear that Tom was the man I could respect and support.

Within a month it became clear that the CA G.O.P. was not an organization I could respect and support and so I have switched parties and will be changing my screen name to Rabid Dog.

Tomorrow I am entering Freeper Detox and will be drying out for a week or so but am looking foward to discussing the changes in California under the leadership of our new governor - ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER!!

Yep! You're right. Let's pack it in boys! Let's give up. I've had it. We won the election but all is lost. Whoa is me! OMG! I'm glad you weren't on any the sports teams that I have played for!

What kind of sport team hobbles one of its key people and repeated tells the fans that he can't carry a football?

Yeah, because we always won, because we prepared and prepared properly. You're right, I don't think winning is everything, it's the only thing. And there's a right way and a wrong way. The right way takes 'over and above' amounts of hard work, uncompromising principle and character, something the 'conservatives' have lost sight of.

"I should have kept my mouth shut". Riordon finished by saying he was talking about an internet tax.

When he said this, was it phrased as a joke, or in any way a look of dread?

I was willing to honor a ceasefire, but this may be "the beginning"

So we lost? Wait...I gotta go check the papers.

McClintock is a good guy. I justhope he takes this better than all of you. I believe he wouldbe ashamed of the way you all are acting.

Your argument might carry weight if the team lost the game.

But I have said on this thread that I like Tom McClintock and wishing different people well. Yet,I see McClintock supporters here demonizing Arnold supporters and threatening to quit the party.

You still don't get the premise. Arnold's supporters threw that first stone and kept doing it for 13 years. I'm not saying that the conservative response (of quitting the GOP) is the right one, I am merely explaining it to you when you characterized it as unreasonable. It may or may not be, but it is certainly understandable.

If you want to know where I stand on this issue, I've already written it here.

Don't kid yourself. There is never a ceasefire. The RINOs are already talking up pro-abort presidential candidates on other threads, using the exact same lying rhetoric they just used to promote Schwarzenegger in CA. You know, if Hillary gets elected, it will be conservative's fault if they won't give up everything they believe in.

See you later.

No argument - just a question. What kind of team does that? And do I want to be part of it? The answer is no.

The die is cast and I wish Ahnold and Calee all the best. The GOP of CA has made its bed over time and now gets to sleep in the sheets itself has prepared. But, don't call yourself a conservative by empowering a pro-abort, pro-gun control, pro-enviro whacko by not pushing the ball down the field for the only candidate that stood up for what you purport to believe in...in fact, a near majority of CA GOPers by their vote admit that the GOP platform is not their platform and actively worked against the conservative candidate. The conservative candidate that turned out enough voters to actually recall Davis.

Schwarzenegger says that taxes are too high, that he won't raise taxes save in the event of terrorist attack or natural disaster

Or "other" emergency. A hole big enough to run a "hydrogen highway" through.

It was for real. No doubt about it. Riordan had that "oh s**t" look on his face, but quickly moved on. Here's a link to a thread about it on FR today. LINK

OK. Here's the deal. You guys are fans of the second string quarterback on a team that just won the Super Bowl. You wanted your guy to start but the team did just fine without him in the starting lineup. Now the game is over. The 2nd string QB is staying on the team. Hopefully to help them improve and wait for his time.

Are you guys going to leave the team because he didn' win the big game? Remember the team won the game.

Nice try. Even if Arnold did as you fear, and I hope he doesn't, it doesn't change the fact that his stance on tax/spend/regulation is nearly diametrically opposite of that of Davis & Cruz -- and your argument was that there was that they were virtually identical.

McClintock is far from finished in politics, he was superb that night of the debate, he made his name well known and who knows where it will take him next....maybe SENATOR FROM CALIFORNIA TO DC.

Wished Tom would have won. Have no respect for the Republican Party nor the Gropinator. In fact when the wash is finished, in my humble opinion, many of the Gropinator supporters are going to be very disappointed.

Well, our guy was the first string QB at the beginning of the game. The recruitment of the soon-to-be star quarterback was done through the media channels and announced on Jay Leno and the first string QB was benched early in the first quarter.

A team won the game.
