TOM MCCLINTOCK DAILY EDITION - 10/8/03 - GOING DARK!
Posted on 10/08/2003 7:10:21 AM PDT by Rabid Dog
As many of you know this has been a local, regional, national news and views thread. I want to thank all of you that have respected its intent. When I first started this thead, I was on the fence between Arnold and Tom. Within a week, it became clear that Tom was the man I could respect and support.
Within a month it became clear that the CA G.O.P. was not an organization I could respect and support and so I have switched parties and will be changing my screen name to Rabid Dog.
Tomorrow I am entering Freeper Detox and will be drying out for a week or so but am looking foward to discussing the changes in California under the leadership of our new governor - ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER!!

Be careful of that "droll." I hear it's a horrible withdrawal. Good luck to you.

Where they gonna go?Well Nevada has no state income tax. FL as well as a few others I believe... AZ (which is the meaning of the horizon, FYI) has a the far more business regulating workers comp, as well as other advantages.
I don't wanna go anywhere. This is the Golden State. We'll see what happens, its not really up to me.

By the way, this isn't a gloat. Just a message people need to learn from their mistakes and to remember Tom as to not let him attempt to sink the Republican party again.

Leave it to you to over-react to what I posted. I know that you are upset now and if you think leaving the party is what you need to do, then do it. But don't act like you are not quitting because you are.
I have been nothing but nice and polite to you on this thread. Don't take your loss out on me.
I just don't understand how quitting advances your agenda at all. You almost sound like you WANT people to beg you to stay.

No, I'm just a native Californian who is tired of being taken for granted. The CA G.O.P. took a stand and it's going to have some fallout. Nothing irreparable. It will just take them another 25 years or so to figure it out.
To: A CA Guy
All I saw was his attempt to divide the party.
While I disagree with your premise here as to McClintock's intent, there are definitely factions within the CA GOP who were at loggerheads throughout this campaign. Do you want to see unity in this party from October 8th on? If so, what's your recipe?

You need to understand the choices.
You had Stalin, Chretien and Bush.
Chretien was the only one, early on, that appealed to the majority of pagans, to the wafty middle of the electorate, and Stalin was just more of what was being rejected.
Bush was too (conservative, Christian, place your favorite excuse here) but stayed in to shape the race somewhat and be there in the event Chretien's life caught up with him, as his lack of substance was exposed. Bush was by far the best choice and most qualified, but damn all that..in fact, let's trash him because he really is the shining light that needs to be snuffed out, because most of us that should support him really, deep down, don't conduct ourselves the way we say and Bush is a sobering look in the mirror.
So, we are all supposed to act as if electing Chretien, while better than Stalin, is somehow going to really improve anything, as electing Bush could have.

RR RD, Thanks for your generosity. I came back to (I) a while ago, even before the recall got started, and much for the same reasons as you. Water's fine. ;-) Let's keep a close eye on Arnold. In the future, let's focus on how we can collectively "push" Arnold to go in the "right" direction.

You started out with the opinion that Tom would get no more votes than a libertarian and then this progressed to Tom the McSpoiler and now hes about to sink the Republican Party? You called Tom scum and I would hope someday you would retract that remark.
To: A CA Guy
Shoo.
To: ApesForEvolution
Uh. Sure, yea. OK. Bush, Stalin, etc. Etc.
I think you had better up yuor medication and lie down for a bit. LOL!

I'm sorry - I thought you were implying I was a sore-loser from your previous post.
I don't really see me "quitting" anything when I had no real emotional buy-in to the cause. I was a Republican because I believed in its platform. I guess the platform isn't valid anymore.
I'm just being very pragmatic. I don't agree with how the CA G.O.P. handled itself - why stay around a complain? That's a waste of time and energy. Better to spend it more constructively.
To: Rabid Republican
Rush just gave a very nice defense of Tom and said he would love to see him run against Boxer next year: "I would definitely support that!"
To: Rabid Republican
Well, before you change your name, just remember, a Rabid Republican sounds like someone with a purpose, a Rabid Dog is an animal that needs to be taken out by Atticus Finch.
To: truthkeeper
I'm sorry but I think "they" are going to run Kelsey Gramer from Fraiser. He's got that "star" power.
To: SONbrad
I knew that drawing pictures would be your best hope, but didn't have the medium available to me here. Since you couldn't grab the word picture, it's not my fault.
