Katie is currently interviewing Lawrence O'Donnell. She can't control her bitterness:

"I think it's fascinating that most of the voters cast their ballots for someone with absolutely no political experience."

"What does this say about the cult of celebrity?"

Katie adds: "is the future fraught with landmines for Arnold, trying to run the goveror's office in the same way he ran the campaign?"

Leon Panetta said on the Today show this AM, that in order for Schwarzeneggar to be successful, he must model himself after Reagan, and work out compromises with the Calif. legislature. I was stunned that he would allude to Reagan!

The cult of celebrity isn't necessarily a bad thing. Isn't that what politics is, at its core?

"I think it's fascinating that most of the voters cast their ballots for someone with absolutely no political experience."

That's because the people don't want a politician. They want a leader.

Well Katie, it can't be too shocking for you, people listen to your bias and you have absolutely NO political experience. Talk about "cult of celebrity" Katie is a poster child for this concept. She is given a 60 MILLION DOLLAR contract because she had a colonoscopy on TV. Wonder what they would give her for a FRONTAL LOBOTOMY!

What does that say about career politicians?

"I think it's fascinating that most of the voters cast their ballots for someone with absolutely no political experience."

I'm tired of seeing this fallacy expressed in the press and here at FR.

So what does it take to be a politician? It takes a person to press the flesh and articulate and campaign a few winning positions. Debate the issues against your political foes in the press and on the election trail.

OR

could people like perky Katie be referring to the day-to-day running of a state by an governor? Organizational skills? Managerial skills? Leadership ability? Having charisma?

Having those qualities above are nice to have for any politician but they are not totally crucial.

What is needed in a governor is VISION, and the ability to turn that vision into reality. Arnold Schwarzenegger does have that vision and the right attitude to lead California. Grey-out with all his 'political experience' is a failure as governor.

So the next time you hear them say he does not have the ‘political experience’, they most likely don't know what they are talking about.
