I have maintained (with no one else agreeing) for 5 years on FR that, whatever horrible harm the Clintons did to the country, it was trebled by the harm they did to the Democrat party and the assistance--admittedly spotty--they rendered the Republican party. Without Clinton, we would not have had welfare reform, nor a Republican Congress. Just think what we would have gotten if we had a sincerely ideological and effective Democrat in the White House for 8 years, rather than a failed president.
But, that's grist for another mill, on another day.

I don't think your alone in your assessment. If memory serves, Rush has often pointed out the incredible decline of the Dem party since Clinton took office - losing the House after 42 years, losing the majority of governorships, state legislatures, etc.
It's like the Clintons' old friend, the late Jim McDougal said: the Clintons are like a tornado that roll through the lives of people they touch.

I think what you say is true of domestic policy. But Clinton did untold damage to our national security. I think had he responded appropriately to the first WTC and OKC bombings that possibly 9-11 may not have happened. I think we're going to suffer for decades for his treasonous sellout of our country's security for personal gain.
